PEARL HARBOR (HawaiiNewsNow) – Fans on Oahu already got a sneak peek. Now, people across the country are watching Monday night’s Hawaii Five-0 premiere. Before the big debut, the stars took a break from filming to get viewers to tune in.

The Hawaii Five-0 crew transformed an Oahu landmark into a busy set. Parts of the pilot were shot at the Mighty Mo and now episode six returns to Pearl Harbor for a hostage standoff.
“I think we all know that the pilot’s definitely really good, the first episode is really good and if we can sustain that” said Scott Caan, who plays Detective Danny ‘Danno’ Williams.
In between scenes, the stars did dozens of satellite interviews to promote the new series in places like Dallas, New York, and of course, here in Hawaii.
“This has been completely unprecedented in my experience. The amount of publicity and marketing the show has been getting, not just here in Hawaii but globally. I got a phone call from a friend in London today saying that she has just been hearing all about Hawaii Five-0” said Daniel Dae Kim, who portrays Chin Ho Kelly.
The nationwide debut comes one week after thousands of local fans watched the first episode in Waikiki.
“I wasn’t nervous until this morning and then I thought to myself, we’re really going to find out after all the hoopla and all the hype, we’re gonna find out what we got.”
Fans are also curious to see if there will be some romance in the action-packed show. “We find love, but it’s platonic…kind of special love. Man love, ‘bro-mance’ style. I always find love, everywhere I go I find some love” said Alex O’Loughlin, who plays Steve McGarrett.
When they’re not on the set — the stars are exploring their new home. Scott Caan can’t wait to start surfing again — once he recovers from a knee injury. “I like Kaisers a lot, Bowls, Ala Moana, I really like that place” said Caan.
“I’m learning how to surf. I’m trying to get to a point where I can actually stand up and look like I know what I’m doing by the time he can surf again” said O’Loughlin.
The actors hope the new Five-0 is as popular as the first one. The premiere comes exactly 42 years after the original show debuted.

Alex: I always find love, everywhere I go I find some love. <<<< Just like Steve, Alex has proven his words over the years, with so many special relationships with his fellow stars. He seems to be a dude that other dudes love to be friends with. 😀
Alex O´Loughlin ~ An Intense Study 
Yes! He always makes a buddy, onscreen and usually off too! His RL bromance these days seems to be the Enoue brothers, and they are adorable with him. He has amazing chemistry with all his male co-stars on 5-0, and McG has a unique relationship with every one of his bros. My fave show bromance was in Moonlight. I looooved him with Josef, better than his love triangle with the ladies on the show. You got the feeling those two had really stood solid with one another over the decades. And Kuol in TR, soooo sweet! Alex had a father/son vibe going with Jack Thompson’s character in Oyster Farmer, and I believe that is a RL relationship as well. He also was also adorable with the Mumbles character, who played David Field’s daddy, in that movie. And he played JRM’s bro in August Rush and they have been friends ever since. He really does portray bromances well on screen, but maybe that’s because he is really good with them in RL. Alex is such a guy’s guy. 🙂

Yes, the RL friendships shines through on the screen. This is what Chi had to say in the commentary of 4:08 about him and Alex:
Chi: It bolstered the scene. We just did ad-lib’s. It really improved the chemistry you know, but that’s the reality of having a real friendship. Because you make this thing real and you make it your own. That’s what gives it natural humour. It’s not just jokes. It’s just the natural humour of life.

I actually want to add as well that he does have great relationships with his female co-stars as well. If you listen to what Sophia, JLo, Kate and even Kelly Overton (his wife in Three Rivers) had to say. They all had such a great time with him.
It is just a pity that so many people want to make all these lovely friendships that Alex have with his co-stars, into romances. I have heard many people say he dates his co-stars, but in reality the only one he ever had a relationship with, was Amber. And that actually only seemed to really happen after Three Rivers ended.
Strange how wrong perceptions can be ….. and in the end people (fans) belief their own wrong perceptions.

Yeah…I think for many it’s more wishful thinking. Fans get into a ‘ship on a show and they wanna believe the actors actually have a thing too. Alex seems to shrink away from that, if anything. The Amber relationship was so on the DL, he clearly doesn’t seek out on-set relationships. I know some ML fans are still convinced he and Sophia had a thing. Even tho he was clearly madly entranced by Holly back then. Folks see what they wanna see…
Perhaps now that he’s an old married man, that nutty stuff will die down. 🙂

Yes Foyeur, Alex proves to us every time that with his sterling personality, genuine attitude, sense of humor and kindness, is very easy be a friend of him. He conquers everyone without effort.
