Alex O’Loughlin – Is he brave or just a “girl” like Danno? – An Update

We have had such a lot of interest in our first post  in regards to Steve injecting himself, that we decided to do a follow-up with all the new detail we came across while intensifying our study.

Two weeks ago in Hawaii-Five-0 Episode 3:04, we saw the now famous injection scene where Steve gives himself a tetanus shot. We asked ourselves the first and big question of whether it was actually Alex “ injecting” himself?

We started of  by breaking this scene down in two parts and to see what we have:
1. We have a shot of Steve from the other side of the table where Danny is standing. We see Steve pulling his pants and shirt away and give himself the injection. He is not showing a lot of skin at all.

2. Then we see a close up shot of him injecting himself and his pants pulled down quite a lot further than in the previous shot. (Yummy!)

We want you to look closely at the first scene. Where is he injecting himself? Please be aware that the photo’s are not good quality because we had to zoom in quiet a bit:

Not only did we see that Steve “injected” himself on the hip bone very much to the front, but it also looks like Alex was using protection (like any wise man should) Can you see it?

A blue film like thingy at the front of the needle. And not only that, there seems to be a square like flesh coloured plaster on the spot as well – making doubly sure of protecting himself. (Maybe the plaster irritated him a bit and left that red mark on his hip we see later on?)

Let’s move on to the close up shot where he is injecting himself on the bum this time.

Have a closer look at the two pictures below. Take into account that we think he got a bit manscaped for the injection shot and that the two pictures are not taken from the same angle. (The picture on the left was taken from the front and we had to zoom in quiet a lot, while the picture on the right is more from the side)

Have a look at where the blue arrow is pointing. Is it possible that we seeing the same “scar” or mark on both pictures?

Then there is also the question about the hand. Is it really Alex’s hand? Thanks to ‘Amberrocks’ for pointing us in the right direction!

In the top right photo, you see the hand from the injection scene. Look at the “line” we highlighted running across the first finger. That “line” seems to be the vein running across Alex’s finger as shown in the other pictures. We believe that it is a good indication that it was in fact Alex’s own hand.

Have you ever gone out to proof something that you feel rather sure of and ended up feeling that you are in fact wrong?!

Last week in Hawaii-Five-0 Episode 3:04, we saw the now famous injection scene where Steve gives himself a tetanus shot. First and biggest question, what did we see? Was it actually Alex injecting himself?

My first reaction was – Of course not, Alex has this very large tattoo right on the spot where he is injecting himself. Surely if it is him, then they must have appointed a new genius person doing the cover-ups for the tattoos, because this is too good to be true! And if they covered it up, why did they leave that prominent red scar there anyway?

Let’s start by breaking this scene down in two parts and see what we have:
1. We have a shot of Steve from the other side of the table where Danny is standing. We see Steve pulling his pants and shirt away and give himself the injection. He is not showing a lot of skin at all.

2. Then we see a close up shot of him injecting himself and his pants pulled down quite a lot further than in the previous shot. (Showing  some lovely veins and the right side of that beautiful V-line men have! *sigh*)

We want you to look closely at the first scene. Where is he injecting himself?

To us it looks like it is on the hip bone very much to the front and not on his bum. Reason for this is that it is actually very difficult to give yourself a shot on the bum and not look silly (I know because I have actually given it myself an injection like that).

Let’s move on to the close up shot where he is injecting himself on the bum this time. The thing we want you to notice is that red scar. (That scar was going to be our proof that it was NOT him! 😀 )

Our theory:
1. It is his body because that red scar is actually the mark where Alex gave himself the shot in the far off angle shot. The mark looks even worse than it might have been, because of the make-up they applied to that spot to cover the tattoo. It probably caused some irritation. Do you think that makes sense?

2. I had serious doubts that the hand that gives him the shot, is actually his own. The reason I say this is that the angle of the arm is very flat and for him to achieve this, he will have to bend backwards very far and his hip will look twisted. If you don’t believe me, take something in your hand and do the motion of injecting yourself. But I once again revised my theory and now believe he gave himself the shot after I studied his hand on the far away shot and the similarities to the close-up shot.

Big question now – what about that very large and very dark tattoo that he has on that very same spot?

Take a look at where that tattoo is supposed to be. Those little waves end right where that “scar” is and the rest of the tattoo runs down the hip in a straight line.

Added to clarify my comparison on the above photo.

Do we maybe see some orange markings there? We know the tattoo cover make-up normally looks orange don’t we? This is also shot indoors and not in the bright sunlight of the outdoors that makes his “tattoo make-up” look even worse.

And of course the triangle-shaped darker spot in the area where the needle enters, is definitely the shadow of his hand (That is about the only thing we are 100% sure of :smile:)

Just a last thought – Those make-up people at H5-0 are surely the luckiest people on the Island!

#AlexOLoughlin – You searched for him and you got us ……

One of our fellow bloggers (Westy) started doing stories from all the searches that landed people at her blog (Westy’s Champ Box). These stories are extremely funny and real fun to read. And I must say, from what she wrote, her blog seems like one of the most interesting and fun places to visit.

If you look at our searches, it does not look like we have nearly that much fun over here :grin:, but it still warms my heart to read them in any case. One of my aims was that if anybody searches the Net for Alex O’Loughlin’s tattoos that they would get us. I am happy to see we are #1 #2 and 3#, when you do. We really hope that people who did get us, are satisfied with what they got. Most of the searchers just asked for his tattoos, while others posted the question whether they are real. A lot of people want to know what they mean and lately some wonder why they look so faded in H5-0.

Yes, his ink is definitely real, sometimes they add and sometimes they cover them for different roles. Alex have said that they all mean something to him, but that everyone needs some secrets. They look definitely more faded on the show than in real life and there can be a number of reasons for it. Wonderful question. We would also like to know?

Maybe it is good that they separate Alex and the characters he plays, in this instance Steve, from one another by changing what his body looks like in real life. He is after all not a Navy SEAL in real life and the producers might feel that the ink he has got is not necessarily suitable symbols or in good areas for someone playing the part of a military professionals.

Just something interesting I have read recently and might be a factor on why his nipple tattoo’s are covered – “Gecko’s are believed to hold supernatural powers. It was thought to bring back luck and bad omen. It was feared by most Polynesians. It is said to bring on illness.”

(Somebody asked me this very same question a while back and I have done an “intense study” to find any evidence of a nose job. I must be honest it really doesn’t look like there has been any work done on his nose. My personal observation: Alex’s nose has got this tendency to look very different in shape and in size in different light and by the angles of photo’s taken.)

Injured Steve tends to look even sexier….is that possible?

There has been a lot of confusion about Alex’s “broken”  arm. Fact is Steve did “break” his arm on an episode in Season 1 of Hawaii Five-o and they also kept the cast on him for the episode directly after that. I actually find it quite good that they do carry these kind of injuries from one episode to the next. However I do not know of any incident where he broke his arm in real life, since he has been in public life.

I think the confusion mainly started because there is also a pictures of him and a fan where he wears a cast on his arm, that was taken on the set of Hawaii Five-0.

One of the pictures I would pay real hard cash for to get my hands on, is Alex surfing.!Even better will be live action footage!! We have seen a lot of pictures of Scott surfing, but unfortunately none of Alex….maybe he is just lying about the surfing thing 😉

We did a story on the scars that are added onto Alex for his role as Steve in  Hawaii Five-0: Alex O’Loughlin the Undercover Vampire Navy SEAL

The only real scars that I know of on Alex that are regularly visible, is the tiny scar he has on the front of his right shoulder. It has been there since before FEED. The other scars visible on his body is the tiny piercing marks on his ears and brows. There also seems to be some scars on his legs…..but alas we do not get to see those legs nearly often enough to report on them…..

Alex O’Loughlin Starring as the Undercover Vampire Navy SEAL Steve McGarrett in Hawaii Five-0

This story begins with another story that I did about Steve’s scars a few months ago. I am re-posting it here for those of you who haven’t read it before and also just for all of us to see those few shirtless moments again. 😉

In the beginning of the story I asked for some sort of explanation to this mystery of why the scar moved after Steve was initially shot in the arm and why the scar seems to look different  all the time. Up until now nobody has offered me any form of answer. 😀

One thing I do know is that the chances of anybody surviving a shot in that specific area, will be rare. Why am I saying this? For that we have to take a closer look at where this scar is located.

The scar ladies…..it’s about the scar!

Here is the proof that any human that has been shot in that spot, could not survive it, if not treated immediately and much less be able to fight or operate a gun with that left arm.

On the exact same spot as the scar, you can see the Blue and Pink “tubes” that are the blood vessels that take the blood to and from the arm. The Yellow “tube” is the major nerve that goes to the arm. But anything is possible! It could have happened that the bullet past somewhere between the 1st and 2nd rib and somehow missed all those “tubes”…….but that still leaves me wondering about something else……

I am no gun expert but a bullet fired from a big gun like the one Victor used at such a close range, surely would have gone straight through the body (especially if it was able to penetrate the Kevlar)…..but alas no exit wound has ever been seen on his back.

AND as you can clearly see he WAS hit in the left bicep……..so what happened and why is the scar in a different place?

This is one of the “best” theories I could come up with:

We are watching the stories of Steve McGarrett the Undercover Vampire Navy SEAL of Hawaii Five-0. (The spin-off series of Moonlight)

How did we get here? What happened to Mick after the door closed at the season finale of Moonlight?

Beth woke up the following morning and decided that the s*x was not good enough for her! 😛 She did not want to give up her whole life and become a Vampire or a Freshie and she left Mick. Mick was heartbroken and decided to relocate. He joined the Navy and took the identity of Steve McGarrett. 😯

The first thing that any Moonlight fan will ask me, is how is all this possible? 🙄 How is it possible for a Vampire to be a Navy SEAL and then handle the harsh sunlight in Hawaii? He is hardly ever seen with sunglasses either.

The secret lies in the re-turning by Josef in Moonlight, Episode 13, ‘Fated to Pretend’. With the superior blood lines that mixed in the process, Mick got a special ability to tolerate sunlight. This is what makes him so good at doing his job. He is not only an Undercover Vampire now ……… he is a superhero named Steve McGarrett!! 🙂

Oh and we have to get back to the scars. The scars are just there as a cover for Mick/Steve to look human. He has to add them and his bicep tattoos every time he needs to go shirtless. Sometimes he gets it wrong and they look different. He also forgot where he was actually shot by Victor Hess and he just chose the place where it is now, because he thought it looked cool and it was easy to reach. 😎

But I am on to him and he might just leave us further clues of his true identity – Mick St. John. After all we are fangirls and we look at everything through a magnifying glass. 😀

One of the errors of my career was doing a vampire show. The fans that I got from that show are very committed. They will never ever see me as anything other than Mick St. John.
