We continue sharing the social media posts of the past weeks.
Remembering the 240 episodes of Hawaii Five-0 by sharing a picture from each episode together with some thoughts shared by Alex and others at the time and over the years ……
Day 137

“A vacation episode would be nice, where all McGarrett does is sit on the beach and gets served mimosas and get his feet rubbed.” – Alex O’Loughlin, TV Week, March 2016

Day138

“I just think (executive producer Peter Lenkov’s) got these bets going about how long he can torture McGarrett with these women, so we’ll see.” – Alex O’Loughlin, News.com.AU, 9 February 2016

Day139
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 139/240)
“Stunts, I did many the first year. As an athlete, to challenge myself, but also for professionalism and to justify my fee. Now, I slowed down, but I still do a good amount. Even if it means taking a long time to recover!” – Alex O’Loughlin, TeleZ Article, 12 March 2016

Day140
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 140/240)
“As a younger person, I loved travelling and being in a different setting! I can spend hours observing nature. In Hawaii, I have a front-row seat! And, don’t forget that I am an actor. By definition, it is someone who is able to adapt.” – Alex O’Loughlin, TeleZ Article, 12 March 2016

A hundred more days to go ….
Day141
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 141/240)
“I don’t think organ donation is something people talk about much because it can be confusing. Sometimes even people who are registered organ donors can feel like they should change their mind after a while. Talking about it, the importance of it, and the impact organ donation can have on the lives of others brings us back to the real reasons we become passionate about it. Because it’s an opportunity to do something incredibly powerful.”– Alex O’Loughlin, Taylor’s Gift Foundation, 7 April 2016
Picture from #HawaiiFive0 Episode 6:23 – Broadcast on 6 May 2016
Day142
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 142/240)
“This whole ‘Being Human’ thing, it’s the toughest gig in town. And I mean it, it really is an enormous challenge. Being human and walking the earth is a tough ask and if we can give each other a little help along the way then I say we do. We are after all, essentially all the same. To Outlive Yourself means making a difference in the lives of others.” – Alex O’Loughlin, Taylor’s Gift Foundation, 7 April 2016
Picture from #HawaiiFive0 Episode 6:24 – Broadcast on 13 May 2016
Day143
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 143/240)
“The other cast rush off and are eager to do (movies) but I just want to hang out with my kids, with my dog and my wife and relax. By the time I get to the end of each season, I’m pretty run down … 25 episodes, that’s a lot of TV to do in 10 months. I need to just get my body back, eating and training and catching up on sleep.” – Alex O’Loughlin, News.com.AU, 9 February 2016
Picture from #HawaiiFive0 Episode 6:25 – Broadcast on 13 May 2016

What a beautiful man and funny too. Thanks for all your hard work to put this all together every day and week.

Wow! So many interesting quotes here!

Dearest Alex, we would have loved a vacation epi and would have watched with relish your sensual, expressive face while you had your feet rubbed. Esp. if they had to remove one of the restaurant epis to fit this one.

Yeah, with Wo Fat dead, they had to find some other way to torture you…

Risking my life is not exactly the way I envisage professionalism nor the justification of my fee, but well, there’s no accounting for taste.

So, in Hawaii, you have a front-row seat to observe nature for hours. Hey, I too love observing nature! No kidding! Can I come and sit with you and observe? I may turn my head many times a minute to observe your profile, but I promise I’ll also observe the nature a few times a minute.

Organ donation is a very serious affair and it’s good to know you work to make people aware of this. That’s why the epi where McG needs a new liver makes me cringe. The subject was treated so lightly, almost like a joke with Danny whining all the time, when they could have taken advantage of the situation to raise awareness among the audience. BTW, nice choice of pic to illustrate this comment. It’s McG in the plane just before the shooting, right?

So, on hiatus time, you just want to hang with your kids, your dog, and your wife. In that order? For sure? 😄

LOL Cassiopea 1000. You might need an ambulance or doctor on standby who can fix your twisted neck. 😛 😉

No complaints about McGarrett getting his feet rubbed as long as Danno is not around. 😉 He would only spoil all the fun walking on McGarrewt´s nerves and complaing all the time. Btw.that valentine day/vacation episode was hilarious. Nice that McGarrett was allowed to have a love interest at least once in a while so he was not tortured all the time – for sure? 😉 . But I agree: torturing poor McGarrett in body or soul often felt so unfair and I often felt bad for him.
Those quotes are an awesome collection. Thank you for finding. They show quite a bit of what kind of man, professional and human being Alex ist. He never phoned in and did his job with commitment, courage and integrity. But I wished he had been more careful with himself although I absolutelly do understand his motivation. And I hope, he will never decide to or have to do something like that again. You are no stuntman Alex although you were good with all the scenes you did, but once you jeopardized your health you might have to live with the consequences for the rest of your life. I have a huge amount of respect for what you did but your health is more important than a movie or a tv show.
So after all that hard work he did having a front row seat in Hawaii observing nature at least for awhile or between work sounds good. Hawaii seems to have amazing nature and wildlife so I kind of envy him and reading that Alex feels so comfortable with nature and is not just a spoiled city guy is awesome. So have a great time, relax a bit and enjoy the incredible view you have from your deck or when you are out and about the island.
And yes, organ donation is such an important cause and it´s good to see someone who is in the public´s eye advocating for it. Esp. since Alex does not only pays lip service and just talks the talk but he also walks the walk since he is an organ donor himself. 👍 👏
So wish you all the possible best for your journey of “walking the earth”. May it be a long, good one. Be blessed and be a blessing yourself. Wish you that you will have people who give you a helping hand and support if you need one, too.
