Day 60
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 60/240)“I actually really like this season. It feels like a lot of things have smoothed out. I’ve relaxed a bit and I’m not taking risks. I’m not doing stunts like I used to. I just can sit back, do my work and be with my family. So actually, for me it’s fantastic. I feel like I’ve got a bit of job security now. Like (during) the first two years, (it was like) the rug could be pulled any minute.” – Alex O’Loughlin, Kapi’o News Magazine, Dec 2012

Day 61
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 61/240)“I do complicate things. Like I’ll buy a house, get a puppy and take on a new lead role at the same time. I’m complicating things less. I think my life feels very, very full right now. I have two sons, my partner has two sons, that makes three (between us) in total. We have a very energetic dog, I have a mortgage and a house and a big show and I’m like, “You know what? That’s good”.”– Alex O’Loughlin, TV Guide, Sunday Herald Sun, 16 December 2012

Day 62
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 62/240)
“I just like him [Alex] enormously…he has the chops…and he has the passion for it. We have always hit it off right from the get-go. It’s funny because we don’t see each other often. I come in once a year, and when I am there (on set), it’s like I had never left…like ‘Hey, how are you doing son.’ And he (Alex) would reply, ‘Hey Dad’(with his Aussie accent)” – William Sadler, Hawaii Five-0 Examiner, 24 July 2013

- William Sadler talks about the scene in Episode 3:15 (Hookman) where Steve sees a vision of his dad. It was also a special episode because it was a remake of one of the episodes (6:01) from the old H5O series.
He says that some people on the set were unsure of how that scene would look like but for him and Alex,
“It was if something happened. There was that certain kind of feeling on the set as if something important had just occurred. And as we all know now, it was something very mystical about that father and son experience.”
and William added in describing the Five-0 chemistry,
“You know when you are on a TV show. Sometimes you tend to stay in the trailer and have a “call me when you need me” kind of attitude. But this cast looks after each other, they hang out together, they talk about what they do during weekends or if they tried this or that.
This is a group who seems to be enjoying the ride and they know that they all are in the same boat together.”
Day 63
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 63/240)“I moved to LA 10 years ago, I’ve seen a lot of people come and go. At first when I went there ….. I was really nervous, there weren’t a lot of Australians there. Now, everyone’s there, everyone wants to be working as an actor, and making a living because it beats working. It’s about commitment, dedication, ambition, drive, tenacity ….. it’s about a million things.
If you’ve gotta do it, go do it. Just be realistic.” – Alex O’Loughlin, Kapi’o News Magazine, Dec 2012

Day 64
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 64/240)“From the beginning of my career, I’ve always been ready to have everything taken away. If you go to Hollywood to “climb the greasy pole” and you’ve got a dream of how it’s gonna be, you need to let go of that dream immediately because it’s not going to be like that. I’m not saying it’s gonna be worse, it’s just a really tricky business. It’s very competitive.” – Alex O’Loughlin, Kapi’o News Magazine, Dec 2012

Day 65
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 65/240)“ I think for me being a father defines me not only as a man, but as a human being. It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me.
People say: “Oh, we’re not going to have kids yet, we’re not ready. We want to earn this much money, we want this.” I don’t know how to tell you this, but you’re never ready.” – Alex O’Loughlin, TV Guide, Sunday Herald Sun, 16 December 2012

Day 66
240 days of #AlexOLoughlin on #H50
(Pic 66/240)“The people that I look to in my life for inspiration are people that do things for other people, are people that, for whom their main priorities are, love, respect and integrity like my lady, Malia.
They’re the ones I’ve surrounded myself with. They’re the ones I hold in deepest admiration. I cut the others loose.”– Alex O’Loughlin, Kapi’o News Magazine, Dec 2012
