Moonlight
Starring: Alex O’Loughlin, Jason Dohring, Sophia Myles, Shannyn Sossamon
- The Setup: Like a lot of guys in L.A., private eye Mick St. John (Alex O’Loughlin) stays out at night and is perpetually 30 years old. But in his case, it’s because he’s a vampire – bitten on his wedding night 60 years ago by his bride.
- The Twist: “Mick has come to the conclusion that he can survive without killing people and use whatever power he has got to do good,” says producer Joel Silver. Having a buddy at a local blood bank helps, as does his friendship with fellow vamp Josef (Veronica Mars’ Jason Dohring) and love for mortal Beth Turner (Sophia Myles).
- The Buzz: The show was revamped, with most of the cast getting the boot.
- The Outlook: O’Loughlin – an Aussie who was in the running to play James Bond – is sexy enough to help Mick St. John take a bite out of his competitors’ ratings.
