#AlexOLoughlin – BJJ Instructor

In January 2019, we missed out on sharing a few things that were posted at the time. So, remember this is not new – it already happened 2 years ago.
In his interview with Inferno Cast, Alex talked about how important it is for growth in BJJ, to also train others on your way to advance in the sport. This shows us how Alex also got involved with training the young.

  1. Oh that’s so cute… Thanks for sharing.

I wonder if his kids fight like other kids (messy screaming and complaining) despite the training – that’s how kids in my family fight. My brothers were the worst. They couldn’t stand 4 ft of each other for 1 second without picking on each other. It became so normal that once when my brother complained to our mother, she didn’t even look at them, she just calmly said: “Children, please do not cause each other physical injuries” – I kid you not; we were on holiday in Istanbul.

    • Well, this is martial art training. So I guess, at least a bit of discipline is required. But if Alex is a good teacher/instructor – and he is – they will also have a lot of fun and not act up too badly.

  2. Thank you for sharing. This is cool. I´ll bet, the kids had a good time with him and probably will remember that training for a long time. ❤

  3. ‘Fun and discipline’ – hmm, that takes skill.

    • Yes. It´s named “motivation”. And Alex is really good with kids anyway. 🙂

      • 1. No man, including Alex, is better than me with kids. I don’t mean to brag, but that’s the reality. 🙂

        2. Childhood is a very important part of life. We all go back to it throughout our lives. And the fun we have as kids, we never have again. There is just something about being ignorant of the world that allows that kind of fun. However, that’s also the time we learn things that stick with us forever. Discipline, motivation, responsibility, even taking care of yourself, all those things are vital in life, and we plant the seed as children, But, I have yet to meet a child who will just obey when it comes to thinks they need. They are very good at things they want, really bad at things they need. Even one of my nieces, a genius, seriously the girl could draw better than me at the age of 3; when she was in nursery and they had a little play, she knew ALL the lines of all the kids, without anyone teaching her, she just picked it up while they were rehearsing. Even she needs you to combine what she wants with what she needs and then there are no complaints, she’s happy to get on with it. And with her, I never felt I need to be too creative. But with her brother… Her brother is a people’s magnet. There’s something about him that people LOVE. He knows it as well. With him… Let’s just say that when he comes over he too will clean up after himself, he’ll fold his PJs, brush his teeth, make his bed and all the other stuff, but I feel like it would be easier if I just did it myself 😀 Then again, kids are not meant to be easy. They are our greatest trial… and our greatest joy. So combining fun and discipline… Hmm… It does take skill, IMO. Especially if your kids inherited your ‘somewhat naughty’ gene 🙂 I’m not saying that Alex or Malia have those… I don’t know.

        • Allright. I think, this discussion now leads too far away from the topic, this site is about which is Alex O`Loughlin. So I´ll stop this here. But if you want to contact me directly, please feel free to do.

          • Well… It is an intense study. So it is our ‘duty’ to examine the ‘evidence’ (i.e. these bits about him) very carefully using our own experience. So I was hoping you’d tell me if you agree/disagree, and why.

But, never mind. We’ll each form our own opinion anyway 🙂

            Best wishes

            • For me, fangirling is more about reporting and enjoying, rather than speculating and judging.
Especially around Alex’s private life, I’d rather stay grateful for the small glimpses we get of it and cherish it, rather than to trample on it with dissection and judgement from a “superior” point of view.
It is a delicate and thin line where we start to intrude on private lives and I know each one of us will have their own opinion of where that line is. It, therefore, might be wiser and better to steer clear of it on a public forum like this.

              • Oh my goodness, I did NOT realise it came across so badly – ‘Superior view’!!! Oh No! I was just having some fun. My bad. I misunderstood. I’m so sorry.

I will keep my comments to my self from now on. Again, so sorry. Please feel free to delete any of my posts you feel were inappropriate in any way.

                Best wishes to everyone.
