#H50 Episode 8:13

At some stage over the years, we did not cover all the episodes of Hawaii Five-0 with pictures and some thoughts on it. For a few of them, Paula actually made drafts with screencaps, but I just never wrote anything with the picture, to do a post of it. This is one of them.

I do not plan to say anything about the old episodes, now that the show is done, but here is just a short synopsis to remind you of what the episode was about:

When a man accused of killing his wife threatens to kill himself, Grover reveals how he was once on the brink of suicide himself.

As you can see, for a number of beautiful reasons this episode made me forget a multitude of sins and kept me engaged throughout.

Even the clothes can’t hide that sexy body under it – it actually brings out the natural “superhero” look, I would say ….

Wow, just wow!

And these last pictures just once again shows us, Alex so naturally being Steve.

  2. Ah. The ‘Shoulder-Hip Ratio’ episode! 😉
Amen to Alex being Steve so naturally. This is so true. With the camera rolling Alex became Steve and Steve, his Steve, owned the screen.
I remember one screenshot in my Let’s pic(k) Steve of this episode that had me laughing out loud, for several reasons. Three actors in this pic, including Alex, who were supposed watch Lou doing his thing. Only two of them were watching in the same direction, lol. Let’s just say Alex and Dennis Chun have been ‘in the moment’. 😉

I like Chi, I really do. I also like Grover, especially in the first epis he appeared, when he was in a sort of healthy “competition” with Steve.

But I always disliked the Grover-centered epis. I found them boring, with little to do with H50. I considered them little dramas just written to give Chi a chance to show his talent for drama and how well he can cry with ‘real’ tears. Maybe I am being unfair, but there it is.

The only highlight of this epi in particular was Alex clad in neoprene and kevlar. But he was on screen for so short times, that not even he could reconcile me with this absolutely forgettable epi.

One of the main reasons I was ready for HF-O to end, was that we were getting so little of Steve. I really disliked epis that focused on other characters.
I thought Steve and Grover had good chemistry together, certainly better than Steve with Danny, when he was there.
Chi is generally a good actor. He’s been around a long time, but he doesn’t know subtlety. In ’emotional’ scenes where he was blubbing away with his big honking sobs, I was not moved. He needs to take a page from Alex’s school of acting, where less is more. JMO.

I think it was one of the better Steve-less episodes. Gave us a lot of bacjground as to why Grover left Chicago. Plus I love Rene. She was the best of the 5 O wives.

Considering that the only other H50 wife was Rachel and they destroyed her character with the whole Charlie business, Rene had no competition. I will discount Chin’s wife Malia because they had her murdered not long after the wedding and probably before she sent out their “thank you for the candlesticks” notes.

A wonderful treat for the eyes I’d say.😍 Also it didn’t matter to me about his hair because it was his head his call and once I saw that face and the rest of AOL too much else didn’t matter.
