2556 Days of #AlexOLoughlin Fun … We are Seven

Thank You, to all of you for being here during the 7 years to share our fun with Alex!!

Real life might not have always been fun for the past 7 years, but here we could always create some fun with fellow fans and followers of Alex. Thank You to those of you who come here and participate with us on a regular basis.

And most of all, Thank You to Alex for being a person and actor worth following. He is not a saint nor a god, but very human and with lots of real Aloha. Sharing him with other is our hobby and it is always great to see the goodness, respect, honour and fun that surrounds him as a person.

Of course special events create nostalgia and I went to look back at our old anniversary posts from the past years. There are a lot of stuff to remember, but what caught my eye when I read through all of them, is that I still feel the same about the things I had to say on them at that time.

You can click on the link to our first year celebration here:

365 days of fun – we are ONE !

But be careful, it is a rabbit hole of memories of that first 365 day. There are links in it of some of the fun we had that year. If you are new here and have not read much of the older stuff, it can be a revelation to see, and I highly recommend it. But be warned, set enough time apart to follow all the links.

You can click on the link to our second year celebration here:

730 days of fun …… We are TWO!

Thankfully this post was shorter, but full of thankfulness towards those we met here.

You can click on the link to our third year celebration here:

1095 Days of #AlexOLoughlin fun – We are Three

Reading that post, I once again felt very proud of what we have done here on our place of Alex heaven.

You can click on the link to our fourth year celebration here:

1461 Days of #AlexOLoughlin Fun – We Are FOUR

This post was short and sweet and mainly contain the links to the previous years, much like this one. When I realized what year it was and the time of my life it was in, I knew why it was so short and sweet. But it also made me remember how being here helped me through some tough times!

You can click on the link to our fifth year celebration here:

1826 days of #AlexOLoughlin fun – we are FIVE!

This post was once again full of links not only to the old anniversary posts, but also to a few of the fun posts and things that made me proud of what we were able to do up until that time. Many of those links are worth the while to look back to.

Then last year’s post to celebrate our sixth year at 2191 days was empty. 😦 😥

Not only that, but July 2018 was also the first and only month we that we did not make any posts for, for the whole month since the day we started the blog. And the months around it we also hardly posted anything.

It was not because we were no longer interested in Alex, but unfortunately real life happened and kept us from being in a frame of mind to post things here. We were always around, still more or less knowing what was going on around Alex and happening to the fans, but we did not engage. But of course during this time Paula kept our Facebook and Instagram and Twitter alive with beautiful pictures of Alex.

Thank you to those we kept in contact during those difficult days!

And now we are back to today

Today I am not only thankful and proud, but also grateful. And not only grateful about sharing some Alex fun with others who are virtually strangers to us, but also grateful to life and friends and family to love.

Here is to life!

Once again

 TO US!!

Many more good fangirl years to come!

Lots of love

They say ….. #AlexOLoughlin passed the sniff test!

Not many of us will ever have the pleasure of meeting Alex, much less being hugged and held by him. And even fewer will ever have the opportunity to sniff or lick him or have a picture taken with him.

In October last year at the age of only 3 months, Mondo the pup got his chance. Now that is what I call the opposite of “a dogs life”. #luckypup #jealousfangirl

mondojrt  They filmed Hawaii Five-0 at my house and I met this very nice man on the way out for a potty break. I didn’t know who he was but I gave him the sniff test and he passed! Now I’m a fan. #jackrusselterrier #jackrussell #jrt #jackrussellpuppy #jackrussellsofig #jackrussellsofinstagram #jackrussellsinstagram #jackrussellstyle #jackrussellmoments #dogstagram #dogsofinstagram #instadog #puppy #puppylove #alexoloughlin #mcgarrett #h50 #hawaii50 #hawaiifive0

Thanks to Mondo’s mommie who posted these pictures back then.
PS. Mondo’s real name is Armando, and according to his mommie it means “Army Man” in Italian. Sounds like a Steve McGarret’s kind of dog to me 🙂 I guess they were destined to meet. Even their camouflage wardrobe can match!

#AlexOLoughlin – Today, 10 Years Ago

Not all of us can recall exactly where we were today 10 years ago, but it is kind of easy for Alex this time. Of course he was on the set of The Back-Up Plan with Jennifer Lopez, celebrating her 4oth birthday with the cast and crew. They filmed the movie during the months of April to July 2009 and spesifically shots some scenes the day before her birthday untill midnight, when they all congratulated and celebrated with her.

Today on 24 July, Jennifer turns 50 and we thought it might be good to recap with some pretty pictures and links to our old posts, some of the quotes and news and stories of Alex, from his time on the film with Jennifer, a decade ago ……

“Some actors are good on TV and get lost in a movie. Alex can do both. And especially on the big screen, you want somebody who can hold your attention, and Alex proved he is one of those people who can do just that.”

Alex interview with Cinema Magazine – March 2010

“Alex is a movie star. Working with him has been amazing, given that he’s never done flat-out comedy before. He’s a classically trained actor from the Australian stage, so it was a learning process for him to find the comedy rhythms without sacrificing any emotional integrity. He’s an incredible talent. Alex and Jennifer also have such fantastic chemistry. They dig each other both as characters and as people.”

  • Alex about working with Jennifer:

And we both realized that we were to the other, someone who we could work with. I knew I could work with her closely because I kind of ‘got her’. She was funny! That’s a big thing. If she was someone who really took herself seriously and didn’t know how to laugh, I think I would have been like, ‘Weeeellll, I don’t know, it’s going to be a challenge to get to those important scenes,’ you know?”

  • Alex talking about the time on set:

“It’s the best, really. A film set is like an adult’s playground and we spend so much time on them … I work and live on them. To be on a film set where there’s a family vibe, and a family feel is kind of unusual and very refreshing. It was great to have [Jennifer’s] kids there so much and Marc there when he could be there, when he wasn’t working. [Also] to have my son there, and my best friend would [visit], and her best friend was there, and her family. It was just awesome. It was the best time.”

  • Alex was one of the guests at Jennifer Lopez’s 40th birthday bash on 27 July 2009. An Evening with Lola’ was a surprise birthday party for Jennifer, organized for her by her then husband Marc Anthony.

  •  Video taken at midnight on the set of The Back-Up Plan:

Jennifer: Alex, make a toast!”

Alex: “Okay, here we go.”

Jennifer: “Alex is going to make a toast.”

Alex: “Here we go. To Jennifer, Happy Birthday. Welcome back, baby! [Cheers all around] …… To Jennifer!”

  • This photo was taken while the little video was filmed:

There are so many photos and articles and interviews from that time that we have shared over the years, and this post is just a small fraction of it all.

Hope you enjoyed the trip down memory lane!

Happy Birthday Jennifer!!

It would be interesting to see where we will all be 10 years from now ……….

They Say ….. Acting with #AlexOLoughlin is Heaven.

Season 3 of Hawaii Five-0 remains my favourite season for many reasons. One of them is the story of Doris that formed part of it. Love her or hate her, you have to admit that she was a very lovingly part of the first 15 years of Steve’s life.

The mother son chermistry between Alex and Christine played a big role in why Doris as a character work for me.

  • This is what Christine tweeted in 2016 when she was on the H50 set the previous time:

Acting with Alex O’Loughlin is pure heaven.

Is it wrong for a mom to have a crush on her son? Lol! #H50

 5 November 2016
Of course this comment from her confirmed all our fangirl crushes. 🙂
You can also read what Christine had to say about Alex, way back in 2012:
Alex is just phenomenal. He’s such a good actor. That first big confrontation scene in the first episode, I felt, ‘Ah, this is so great. I don’t have to do any work, because he’s so great. I just have to look in his eyes and respond.’ He’s talented, boy. He’s the real thing.”
