Alex O´Loughlin ~ An Intense Study 
well, I have all sorts of opinion on this episode regardin Alex. First, beard – hard NO! I hate that long beard on him. Sexy scene in bed – yum! Did you notice his chest tattoos showing? But why, why he was wearing Joe’s coat?! And lastly – Cathrine is too much. I mean, she should finally decide, staying or leaving forever. This has become boring, her coming for one episode in season, just to mess with teve’s head again since he doesn’t have current girlfriend anymore.

Wearing Joe’s coat is part of the grieving process. People who have lost loved ones will often hold onto a piece of clothing, like a sweater for example, which gives them comfort by wearing it or even just holding it. Steve is going to keep that jacket forever and if it brings him inner peace, then he should honor the man by wearing it. Joe was his true father in every way that truly mattered. .

I’m still owning my grandpa’s shirt he wore for his engangement in the early 1920’s. And I’m wearing in the summertime. Same goes for a shirt of my deceased father.
It is sad that you think that it is creepy.

I loved all the Steve action. So many emotions shown. Alex is so good at letting us know how Steve feels just by his facial expressions. Glad we got to see some of his beautiful body in the Morocco scenes. I have to agree about Catherine. She continues to come and go in his life and break his heart when she leaves. Let’s get Steve a love interest who stays in town and is there for him. Thank you for all these wonderful pics of Alex/Steve. Great way to bring in the new year!

Buzz cut in S8, now this terrible beard. What is he doing? Or what are they doing to him? Trying to make him ugly so we abhor him or what? Well, they’re wasting their time. Even if they paint him in fluorescent green, he’ll be gorgeous! He simply can’t help it!

I suppose the heavy gray beard was to make him look unkempt since he obviously didn’t pack a razor and/or didn’t care about that after Joe died. The writers did something similar to Adam when his marriage to Kono ended. That time Danny told Adam he smelled but since Danny wasn’t repelled by Steve’s “aroma”. I can only surmise that a bar of soap and Cath’s presence were responsible.
But he does clean up nice!

Very sexy in Morocco!!! Loved the passion displayed. All the more reason to give him a love interest to rekindle that passion once again. He needs someone to love and to love him and more importantly to stay.
Also loved him in the Bond mode in the tux as he looked absolutely gorgeous!! Always a pleasure to see him actually in any mode. Thank you for giving us that Paula.

After everything that’s happened between Steve and Catherine, I’ll really be pissed if Lenkov still intends them to be together at the end. Steve deserves so much better. I want him to meet some one and fall so hard, it’ll be like a ton of bricks, and cupid’s bow to the heart, all at once!!
They should have dumped the secondary case altogether, and included the best flashbacks of Joe and Steve together, instead.
Alex’s acting was great, as usual. I loved his glam look, his bedroom look, and everything else. Such a sexy, gorgeous man. Thanks Paula, for everything.
Next week it’s all about Danny. Ho-hum.

I’d love Steve to fall head over heels in love, too. Both Joe and Wade told Steve to re-evaluate his life, fall in love and settle down. Joe was obviously biased in favor of Catherine. And as Catherine left yet again, Steve stood there, lost in his thoughts. Remembering? Re-evaluating? Understanding? Forgiving?

Excuse me Ladies!! Catherine came back to comfort Steve,He obviously told her where he was. She loved JOE and Joe loved her She also shot the total Bitch who was the reason all his Seal buddies were killed and who was about to kill Steve when Catherine shot her. Sometimes a love is so deep you have to get a way before it consumes you . I think that is why Catherine left for a while but I think she knows how deep the feeling and MEMORIES are between them both. Do you honestly like “Miss Operative “more than Catherine Really??? We almost lost our Steve to her gun !!!

Loved the episode, even if I am alone in my opinion. Love Catherine, and was SO happy to see her again! Yummy Alex all around, and so worth the 30 episode wait to see him shirtless again 🙂😉😘🤤😘

The heart wants what the heart wants. And since (spoiler alert) both McGarrett and Cath are fictional characters, the only heart that matters belongs to PL and he ships McRoll. Am I wasting my time reminding everyone that what any of us wants to happen or thinks should happen has no bearing on what will actually happen unless he wants that outcome too?
PL has been quoted in interviews as saying that their story is far from over and that Cath will be there to the end. He keeps his word and he brings her back and will continue doing so until either the series ends or AOL does not re-sign. Then she will return for good to give McG his happily ever after. This has always been the plan.
The show has hired some throw away temporary love interests for him but there has been zero chemistry between the actors. If the idea was to just keep his love life in limbo then the show would not have ended the Lynn relationship so suddenly and without any fanfare. They needed to move Steve closer to resolving his personal life, so they dump Lynn, kill Joe and bring Cath back to help him avenge the death.
Like it or not, this is where the train is heading, so……………

Thanks for the screenshots and gifs ladies, although I have to say that while Alex played the part of a young, randy SEAL high on adrenaline after his first kill very well in that sex scene with Greer, I have a hard time finding the appeal of seeing him at the very moment that sealed Joes fate (Greer literally did this because she didn’t get more McG). Gives me the icks.

Just my opinion. A relation that goes on/off for maybe 15 years is juvenile. Things like that only goes on the soaps and Hallmark movies. This “romance” is so long it is ridicule Hate to say, but I would only better if he outs into with Danny. Ugh!

Thank you mamayorkie for being the voice of reason. I agree 100%. The hatred for the character/actress is so sad. There are more important things to disagree on with such vitriol. Sometimes I feel that is the reason we don’t see more of McRoll because PL tries to keep everyone happy. I for one will stay on the ride until their happy ending.

Most of the dogs my family ever owned or, I should say have owned us, are Yorkshire Terriers. I lost my last one not so long ago. I honestly think my father is in heaven holding onto multiple leashes.
And in my home they were always my babies and I was their Mama.

Alex, too, was awesome in this episode. A wall was up in Steve’s eyes and a wall surrounded him. Only emotions were sadness, grief and guilt and all this fueled his wish for revenge. Extremely well acted.
The episode itself lacked the awesomeness that was 910.

I love everyone’s posts. It’s wonderful to see Steve finally getting some action, even if it is in a flashback!
I saw an Instagram post showing Alex directing again. YEAH!! He’s directing episode 9.17 and the clapper board date is 1-3-2019, so it’s happening right now. He directed at exactly this same time last year. He must use his winter break to prep for his directing duties and to scout locations.
I hope we start seeing PR, photos and videos on this topic. Last year we got great coverage of his directing debut.

Haven’t seen the ep yet, have it ready to watch soon. Probably over the next couple of days.
Am not surprised Cath is back to help Steve avenge Joe. Of course Steve would reach out to Cath about Joe’s death, she’d feel Joe’s loss strongly too, they both knew him, worked with him and cared about him.
That said I’m still sore over Cath leaving Steve and breaking his heart in S6, prior to that I adored her. It’s the sign of good acting when you start out feeling one way about a character then something happens to make you feel the opposite. Personally, if Cath is going to keep reappearing and disappearing on Steve, I’d rather she just go and stay gone. However if she finally gets her head out of her ass and realizes how much Steve really loves her, needs someone who will love him and not abandon him at the drop of a hat, then I’ll forgive her. (Course I’d love if Steve & Danny got together too but that’ll never happen. Shame really, as Danny is always there for Steve. He may not be a gorgeous, tall, dark haired beauty, but at least he’s always there if Steve needs him).
If Cath eventually (finally!) does right by Steve, I’ll ship that all the way, but if not then for Goddess sake I wish PL would stop with the constant yo-yo that is their entire history. Sometimes you have to choose to grow up, stay permanently or leave well enough alone, lest you cause permanent damage to whatever you once had together & each other – at least you do in the real world. But then, TV is hardly real these days is it lol
