#AlexOLoughlin (Feb 2013) – Sustainable Coastlines Fundraiser

We continue our charity and fundraising event posts with another event of which we have never posted all the pictures before. This is all a reminder that there is just more than 1 week left to donate and take part in the raffle for the trip and set visit to Hawaii. This is the link to the information again.

  • And now back to our featured event from way back in 2013 …… (this week, 5 years ago)

“Hawaii Five-0” star Alex O’Loughlin hosted “Love Your Ocean,” a fundraiser for Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii, at The Elks Lodge Waikiki on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013. The night featured music, food, a marine debris fashion show and silent auction. – Joah Buley (Honolulu Pulse, 10 Feb 2013)

  • This was the invitation:

Alex O’Loughlin, better known as Steve McGarrett on CBS’s “Hawaii Five-0″ will host the Sustainable Coastlines Annual Fundraiser, “i HEART the ocean” from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Elks Club Waikiki.

Sustainable Coastlines is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group founded in April 2011 that aims to inspire citizens to become better stewards of their coastlines through awareness events and beach cleanups.

The evening fundraiser will also feature a marine debris fashion show, live music by Discord & Rye, Cynth & the What’s His Faces, a silent auction, prize giveaways, heavy pupu and more.

Tickets are $40 through Jan. 31 and $45 between Feb. 1 and Feb. 9. Tables of eight are available starting at $1,000 (and include the opportunity to take pictures with O’Loughlin). Purchase tickets online.

Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii is a grassroots, local nonprofit organization run by a small team of dedicated staff and supported by passionate volunteers, just like you. We inspire local communities to care for their coastlines through fun, hands-on beach cleanups. We also coordinate educational programs, a voluntourism program, waste diversion services, public awareness campaigns and help others run their own beach cleanups.

Some Trivia of the evening

  • There is not much information about the event, apart from these pictures and some of the titbits shared by fans who attended.
  • Alex brought his family to the event – it included Malia with the 3 month old Lion as well as their other two boys Saxon and Spike.  (Of course his assistant Kirsten Rowsey and well as his bodyguard were also there.)
  • The pictures were taken by official photographers and the guest were not allowed to take their own pictures.
  • Alex was also one of the judges of the Trashion show.

Judging by the pictures, the event looked like a lot of fun for Alex, his family and the guests.

I am always amazed at how easy Alex make it all look.

To keep smiling and giving everybody a quality moment of his time …..
