  2. Ok. I did not want to look here, because I haven’t yet seen the episode. But I couldn’t help myself. Now I have tears in my eyes. This episode will destroy me.
Thank you Alex O’Loughlin from the bottom of my heart for this idea. TPTB should listen to him more often!

I LOVED this epi, ADORE Eddie and I am enamored with Steve’s vulnerability, compassion and quiet expression of love. Steve came to life last night. He has been physically alive for years; last night he became emotionally alive. Who knew a ‘ cat guy’ would become so attached so quickly? Alex knew……

    I love Eddie.
I love the fact that Steve kissed him before they went to chase the bad guys (even though in RL, (which we do not deal with on this show) Eddie was not sufficiently healed to go back out in the field. I am wondering if Eddies scar from the bullet wound won’t miraculously wind up on the other side in later episodes.
I love Grover’s reaction to Eddie. This may turn out to be one dog with lots of treats under the Christmas tree.
I love that Steve replaced a ditzy blond with a bad ass blond. Eddie will never give him a black eye or take him on a staycation.

I haven’t watched the new episode yet.I didn’t know Danny was leaving the show. Is he going back to Jersey to open his restaurant? Is Rachael going with him?

I never said Danny was leaving the show. Where did you get that idea?
Oh wait. I get it. Ditzy blond. I was referring to the other one. You need to watch the episode and you will understand.

    • LOL! If the ditzy blond is Lynn, I absolutely agree with you, mamayorkie!A dog is always better than a dull partner/wife/hubby.McEddie? YES!

Yes, I meant Lynn. Thought it was obvious. Guess not.

Glad Steve has a furry friend to cuddle up with while he waits for the “real deal” to return.

        • Wait, what did I miss, i watched the episode, did they break up?

I was being facetious. Sorry. Since PL said Lynn was not in McG’s future, I was just giving Steve another blonde substitute more in keeping with is personality to tide him over a dry spell. (Eddie)

If they have broken up, (Lynn) we don’t know about it yet but in keeping with how this show disposes of women, we will probably have an off hand reference to it down the line. She will disappear off the face of the earth like Gaby (one of my favorites), So, it is either kill them—The Governor, her assistant, Jenna, Malia, or banish them like Gaby, Lori, Cath and Rachel. As long as PL keeps any of those characters alive there is hope for their return. But some are more likely than others. So, for now, it’s Eddie, not Lynn.

            Viva McEddie.

I had to look up facetious. Sometimes I think the whole show is written that way. You know, the attention an span of 12 year old little boys. I thought that it was sweet that Steve enjoys cooking gourmet meals for the blondes in his life. Either past or present. Free range chicken for a dog? Too cute. And by the way, how did the dog get out of the house and find his way to the cemetery? Another dose of “leave your brain out of this”? Oh well, works for me.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Eddie !!! I hope we will see Eddie a lot, not like the ‘absent’ girlfriends that we are supposed to ‘take for granted’ are around, but not seen.
I loved this episode. Steve’s encouraging kiss for Eddie, and the scene at the end. Forget that in reality, Eddie would not have been put back to work so quickly after surgery, let alone be running the way he did. Also, the cemetary is miles away from Steve’s home at the beach, I assume. Dogs are able to home in on familiar places, so that is possible. I had tears i my eyes !!
I love Eddie !! He is the most beautiful addition to HF-0.
    Steve/ Alex was wonderful !!

Finally, a relationship most of the fandom can agree on, McEddie!! Man’s best friend, loyal to the bitter end. Well, we haven’t seen McBrown yet and if CF won’t be wearing any two piece swimwear or carrying a surfboard, they won’t waste their time. Besides, they have yet to write a decent storyline for any woman on the show, Kono included. At least they are able to write a decent storyline for the dog. Thank you Alex for the idea and thank you PL for putting the idea in action. I can’t believe they showed Alex at the end with the dog and I was annoyed because he was taking away from the camera focusing on Eddie.

I loved this episode! Steve and Eddie are an excellent pair!! Both losing those they cared about……a perfect union!!! I’m glad to see that Steve has a new loving companion in the house of the 4 legged kind!!🐶 Hopefully he’ll soon find a loving 2 legged companion who will endear herself to him, which is what he truly needs, and he’ll say bye bye to Lynn (one can hope)!! As for Eddie, love him!!!!

I don’t think we’ll see Lynn again. SC didn’t seem to be enchanted with playing the role, but I’m sure it was a decent paycheck. I also think she’s more focused on being a mommy right now. I don’t think she’ll want to lug little Alice across the ocean to take on a role that takes a day or two at best to film and gives her only 10 minutes of screen time. She also has a band to keep her busy. If they’re not going to offer the significant other a decent role or she’s not an up and coming actress, it’s a waste of time.

This was just an okay episode for me. The dog story seems kind of recycled from the one with the dead ICE agent in the plane when Danny kept the dog (that was mentioned one other time and then disappeared). Kinda meh on the new guy. He seemed like more of a lost puppy than the dog did! Plus, he’s way too young to be a former SEAL.

I really enjoyed the episode. The plot was too predictable, but i loved Eddie. Each time they add a new character, people tend to compare with McGarrett. This fur character is by far the closest to Steve’s – bamf, fearless, protector, loyal friend, adorable and handsome. I’m aTeam McEddie fan.

    TY Foyeur!

  16. Sniffle. Just watched. Wonderful episode. Alex was amazing. Eddie is amazing. The best thing besides McEddie? McGrover!!! Lou and Steve together are the best. Hope they let D with Tani and Steve with Grover. So refreshing and way more fun!
I like the way they included Chin and Kono, well done! And with Junior they now have another link to HPD and Duke. I like it that way. And it was pretty clear that Danny is no one you want as a business partner. Water from old rusty lead pipes? Minerals my a**!
I don’t care that the case was predictable, it was more about Steve fixing broken toys again.
    McGroddie ftw!

I wish they would drop the whole restaurant thing but it looks like it will be the main theme for the rest of the season. I can understand Danny wanting a restaurant so he has a retirement plan but Steve? He needs to open a toy shop. The name? “You send it-I mend it.”

BTW, it is commonly know around the metropolitan area that good pizza depends upon where you get your water, the preference being NYC, and Brooklyn. Whether this is true or not is unknown but the natives swear by it. And the pizza is first rate.

It’s true. East coast (NY and especially NJ boardwalk) pizza is not to be outdone. Is it the bromide in the water? Maybe. I agree about the restaurant theme. Just seems like more oppertunities for Steve and Danny to butt heads.

Just like the best sourdough French bread in the world comes from San Francisco. The famous French bread company has been using the same secret starter since the gold rush days,150+ years ago. I do believe the water makes the pizza (dough.) Although, Danny, I love lots more things on my pizza than just a little “schumutz.” Let’s just say that the rest of the world has taken your idea and broadened and refined it. lol, New Yorkers and East Coasters HATE pizza made anywhere else in the world and they’ll let you know it in a New York minute!

Great episode, from the first scene to the last. Eddie’s wonderful. Just one look from those gorgeous brown eyes and your heart melts into a puddle of love and tears. It’s hilarious that Steve is resolutely a cat guy (“perfect little ninja” cracks me up every time he says it) when we know that Alex loves dogs. Steve’s just a “loves all kinds of animals, loves all kinds of people, loves to fix broken people and fix broken things” kinda guy. He’s just my kinda guy.

I’m laughing over all the in jokes about restaurants. When Danny first brought up the subject to Steve during the bomb episode, Steve accurately pointed out that 90% of all restaurants fail in the first year. So, it’s a hugely risky idea to pursue. Now everyone in the world is trying to talk Steve OUT of the idea of opening a restaurant! “Why would you want to do that?” But now Steve signed a lease, ahem, again without discussing it with Danny first. OK!

Opening an Italian restaurant in the middle of Honolulu’s Chinatown might just be a genius idea. Steve and Danny have one big thing working in their favor–the loyalty and support of law enforcement officers and fire personnel, who will show up faithfully to eat at their restaurant. That could mean the difference between success and failure.

I didn’t find anything over the top or unrealistic in the episode. I think the show telescopes time. More time passes than we understand, so we think something’s happening five minutes later when it’s really happening several days later. I wish the characters would indicate that in dialogue. Dogs have traveled thousands of miles to find their owners, so Eddie trekking back a few miles to the cemetery is 100% believable. Steve and Eddie, resting side by side at the cemetery, is deeply emotional, both guys grieving their lost best friends.

I was touched when Steve and Danny discussed missing Kono and Chin. That’s realistic and emotionally true. You do miss your team members and friends of the past seven years who have left you. It humanizes Danny and Steve to express those feelings. And what better place to let down their emotional guard than in those private conversations in the car?

I like mixing everybody up and re-teaming people. That’s why this season may be a really pleasant surprise for me. Lots of new ways to mix it up.

I was so teary watching this episode, maybe it was because of the music used in scenes so bring out emotions from viewers but wow yeah I got teary when Eddie kissed his dead handler and went after the killer.

And also too just seeing and actually feeling the instant bond Steve has with Eddie, it’s like he understands him. Yep, Steve likes to fix broken toys and give people a second chance…..That’s why we love him.

He’s done it with Danny, Chin, Kono, Tani, Lou, which I get why he hasn’t recruited Junior yet because Junior hasn’t proven himself. initiative yes but I think Steve wants to know what Junior is made of first.
