#AlexOLoughlin …… Directing

I’m not really a writer but I would love to get into direction at some stage.

  1. I’d miss not to see him but I’d be thrilled if he choosed not to act any more but direct (and write).I know in my bones he’d do great work.

  2. I’d be thrilled if Alex O still wanted to write and/or direct. It just seems he’s shown no inclination toward either of those things any longer. At the very least, he should have asked to direct an episode of Hawaii Five-0 (Daniel Dae Kim has). Or, requested co-executive producer status (it’s happened on a multitude of shows). I want him to get all the best things that are due him. I sincerely feel he DESERVES the best. Better that than to regret not advancing a career that he went back to school and obtained a degree for. If done right, there should be no resulting physical injuries!

    • Alex did say here that he is not a writer, so I doubt if he will try to write something for the show or anywhere else. Maybe also why he would not be listed as a producer – because the actors who also become producers do so by writing or giving input into the shows storylines.
I actually doubt if Alex want to have himself as a producer of the show, as he said on many occasions that he and the writers do not always see eye to eye in the direction the show should go.
He did however say in the November inteview that he will be directing an episode – I guess that might have already been negotiated if not reported incorrectly
Of course I would not want him to do so, but many people change careers later in life in our modern society. It will all depend on where his passion lies. If it is no longer in the entertainment world, that would be his choice, and our loss – but that is his choice to make.

Go for it, Alex! Try something new. Bet you’ll rock it. 🙂

I agree Voyeur he will go where his passion lies. If he feels strongly about directing he should darn well get into it. Stars of various shows and movies take cracks at directing and do a fine job and directing themselves as well. The only thing is I still want to see AOL in front of the camera if he decides to go that route!😍 That is his call and if he were no longer in front of the camera and shifted to being behind the camera, that handsome, sexy man would always have my support!!♥️♥️

I omitted talented, of course, in addition to speaking of his other attributes!! 😊 Mah bad!!

Health wise, it might be better for him to take a break from jumping off buildings by doing his own stunts and risking injury. I’d like to see him sit behind the cameras for awhile and see if that kind of creativity satisfies his artistic needs. He can always come back before the cameras again.

I still believe his role as Vincent in Criminal Minds was his best work. No stunts, just using his face and body language to sell his story. That is what great acting is all about.

I think you’re right. It’s one of the Criminal Minds episodes that I remember the most and I watch it religiously. His portrayal of Vincent was heartbreaking.

Certainly would miss him a lot if he decided to go into directing,I guess its because of his injuries he has suffered by doing some of his own stuntwork on the show–Go for it Alex BUT we will defininately miss you acting!!
