#AlexOLoughlin ….. My Dream

The idea of working regularly in feature films that’s my dream. To go from one character to the next and get to tell a million different stories, that would be wonderful, I’d love to be able to do that.

But the thing about television is that the job security, you cannot beat. I’m a family man and I have to think that way. But I definitely do get scared I’ll get stuck in one character and never find my way out. That other people aren’t going to trust me that I can’t find my way out to find one of their characters. So there is that.

  1. I’m scared too. And he living in Hawaii, not in LA where the business is. But I’ll have faith in his intelligence, his talent & his agent.

How insightful he was in that interview. I would love to see him do movies after H50 is done, but it will be tricky since he doesn’t want to leave Hawaii. But, he’ll figure it out. I would love to see him in a futuristic movie where he plays a cowboy helping to save the planet! And, please let him keep the Aussie accent!

I would love to see him in a smart comedy. I think he has a rather good comic timing.
    Or in a character-driven Drama.
Or in an intelligent lovestory, that is more than just “Boy meets Girl”.
I surely would go to the movies to see him in one of those …

ChB, I love all your ideas. I’d love to see Alex in any one of those movies. I’m hoping that he opts for movies, where he’s on location for a few weeks or months at a time. He’s not making a huge, 7-year commitment to be in one location. The kids will be older and he can travel more. Malia can take her business with her on the road, too. It’s all possible, if he wants to do it. I just hope he wants to do it, that he’s just not totally burned out from doing Hawaii Five-O for so many years.

Many famous actors don’t live anywhere near Hollywood, or even near Cali. And Lion is close to school age. I don’t see him leaving Oahu any time soon. As far as movies, I don’t really care what he does after H50, but I love seeing him onscreen on a regular basis, which doesn’t happen with movies.

If he chooses to do movies, you hire a tutor and home school your kids when you’re on location. Actors can really do anything today. Maybe CBS will develop another TV series for Alex and Daniel in Hawaii, you never know. Then he can happily stay there forever and work.

  5. I agree with Alex. I hope he can find his way out of “Steve McGarrett” after 8 seasons and into someone new. He is just too talented not to be able to find a new character he can bring to life on the small or big screen. I hope some directors/producers/writers see him as the Man For The Job and throw some great scripts his way to keep his dream alive. ♥
