#H50 – shirtless Steve

Oy, not my favorite epi by far (and I even skipped all Grover story scenes), even with shirtless McG…Alex looked breathtakingly handsome but unfortunately many beauty shots were ruined by other people blocking my view! I did not have time for more tonight, so posting more in coming days. Take a deep breath and enjoy these bits and pieces 🙂

Kudos to PL for the completely gratuitous, topless Steve scene. It added absolutely nothing to the story except for the sexiness. In movies, usually only the men get treated to this kind of stuff. Glad he appreciates a huge part of his fan base.

I might have a slightly different opinion there, as I would love to have a better story, but if this is what I’m going to get instead, I’m going to look and like it!

  2. I have a theory about the doc’s office scene, it was a gift to distract us cuz they knew the rest of the episode had so many problems! Mahalo for these wonderful bits and pieces!

Woulda been better with no Danno in there…cos nobody brings their friend in to the actual exam. Plus he was acting like a child, playing with the instruments and thus getting em all germy. Uncool, Danno.

    • Very uncool, especially since Steve asked him to leave. Why he brought him in the first place is beyond me.

      • Isn’t there medical confidentiality in the U.S.? Steve wanted D to leave and he refused and the doctor talked nevertheless? WTH?

Yes, babe, there is medical confidentiality. Show completely ignored that. That doc would no way blurt out McGs medical Intel with his childish partner in the room…who was also touching and thus dirtying the exam paraphernalia. 😡

I sometimes wonder if Scott doesn’t want to spend as much time on the show because the writers have made such a joke of his character. I understand the whole going back to LA to be with his family, but that situation could easily be dealt with if he wanted to.

Shirtless Steve and the new blue henley were the only good parts of this one. The whole episode felt like sentimental filler. Seems like they wasted Michelle Shimoa (sp?), she was a better villain than that stupid Gabriel. And I hope we never have to hear the name Clay Maxwell again! Steve’s trick to bust the lock was cool, though.

    • I agree with you DoubleL. Steve’s ingenuity to break the lock was cool.
Once again they underused a great Nemesis with Michelle Shioma, her cold ruthlessness was to fear by all.
Kudos to the makeup crew to finally get Steve’s skin tone right. However someone missed an important scar. Steve’s abdomen wound from S2.01
just to our lower right of his belly button. We would defiantly see it in these beautiful shitless Steve scenes. ♥
Thank You Paula for these gorgeous bits and pieces of our gorgeous man.♥ As DoubleL asked I can’t wait to see pics of Steve in the new blue Henley. If he must wear a shirt I do like the chest hugging Henley.
      Yummmm. 😛

Kudos to the makeup crew at getting a match to Alex’s skin color covering up his chest tatts. However continuity failed again. Someone forgot Steve’s abdomen scar just down and to our right of his bellybutton from S2.01.
We would defiantly see it in these shirtless scenes had it been there. ♥

Thank you Paula for these delicious bits and pieces of our shirtless Steve.
Just as DoubleL said I’m lovin’ the New Blue Henley. If Steve must wear a shirt I really like that chest hugging Henley. Yummmm 😛

The thing that bothered me the most about this episode was when he said couldn’t pick a lock. Like STEVE WE KNOW YOU CAN PICK A LOCK we saw you break into the governor’s mansion in season 1! lol

While I believe that Steve could certainly pick a lock, I’m pretty sure that when he broke into the governors mansion, he had remembered the code for the security system.

      • Also when breaking into the governors mansion he planed ahead with a set of picking tools. Looks like he didn’t think he’d need them for this island trip so he had to improvise with a….bullet 😉

i haven’t watched the entire ep yet as i was supposed to wait and watch with a friend. however, I saw enough to realize how underwhelming this was when compared to what could have been. As thankful as i was for shirtless Steve, I do wonder why he had his shirt off. Had a nurse or PA done his entire exam? The doctor didn’t have anything else to do.
Ah, crazy that someone can’t do the job of keeping up with his scars. in the beach volleyball scene during the double date episode, they seemed to come the closest. They never have figured out what a liver transplant scar should even look like. Well, at least they mentioned the anti rejection meds. i really do think Steve would be better with following protocol than they insist upon showing him. At least he would argue with his doctor about it rather than simply ignore it.

LOL AJ, about him sitting there with his shirt off when no one examined him!

lol, joyfuljaj, great observations! Why was a shirtless Steve sitting there in that chilly cold exam room? Perhaps the doctor had already done the actual exam, because otherwise Steve should be wearing the top of an exam room paper throw away garment. Everyone puts them on before a medical person (physician, PA or nurse) enters the room to begin an exam or procedure.

On the scars, the make-up people aren’t following protocol to prevent these continuity glitches, especially for this character, who’s been shot and wounded so many times. You take photos each time you do the work and keep them. The next time you need to put on the scars, you go back and look at all the photos to see exactly what scars need to be put on, exactly where, and exactly how they’re supposed to look. They do continuity for clothing, hair styles, and which side Steve’s shoulder bag should be on, so why in the heck not for all his scars?

The scar down the middle of Steve’s chest looks like a heart transplant scar. The liver is a huge organ which starts at the middle of the chest and wraps around the right side of the ribs. There’s no way that a transplant team could put the liver inside Steve’s chest without extending the incision to curve right and under the bottom of the liver. They couldn’t attach it and do all the suturing and connecting work needed to actually complete the transplant from that incision.

I’m surprised that super SEAL Steve has now been captured in two recent episodes. Why did he decide to make this a clandestine operation? In my opinion, Steve should have asked for HPD back-up. In the real world, that would have been a massive police invasion, and the criminals would have been immediately caught or shot, in a successful raid. But we all know that the point of this poorly written episode was to give Jerry his badge.

The Grover portion of the episode was emotional. The young kid who plays his son is an excellent actor. He was awesome in the episode with Danny, when they were trapped at the school prom. I hope we don’t lose him too, to other TV shows!

Here’s hoping we start seeing some exciting, well written episodes which lead up to a great season finale.

  9. I loved the episode. Yes love Grover too. As really it may not be the last we see of Michelle. But at least Dr Danno had Steve’s back. “No I will not bend over and cough!” LOL!

lol, Steve told Danny that he wouldn’t bend over and cough, basically telling Danny to behave and stop being silly in the exam room. Ah, that’s a lost cause, Steve. To me this scene felt like Alex and Scott goofing around and being silly.

        • Yes, it felt like Alex and Scott was just being silly. Maybe too many takes and getting bored. But have to say it sounded a bit too creepy to me, especially with the “cold hands” mention. Bet they didn´t think editing would leave it in…

  10. My theory about the goal of this scene is: let’s have a Steve’s shirtless scene for Paula of AOL-IS can make awesome gifs and the rest of the ladies stare and drool. So mission accomplished. Thank you Paula!

PS: when you have time (and the hiatus is coming), please pay some attention to Steve in that blue henley. I’m sure you will do terrific gifs and pics.

  11. The extra Dannoying moments of this episode made it plain to me that I skip through 7.23 just for handyman Steve IF I am going to watch.
Steve was uber hot in this episode. Your gifs are again awesome and a joy Paula! Steve was in SEAL mode here, showed why he is in charge. The scene in the blue room was terrific!

Thank you, Paula, for the hot pictures of shirtless Steve/Alex! The only ones close to those shots are the blue henley shirt scenes. He needs to wear that shirt more often! I enjoyed the SEAL McG very much. He is a great 50 leader. One question though, did Grover go to court and testify, or did he change his mind when he saw the pictures in the bar? I have watched this episode twice and don’t feel like they made that part clear. (just like what happened to Alicia and Madison). There have been some plot holes in this season.

I really like how Steve seems more relaxed, more mature and acting like the leader. Except when he’s around Danny:) He can still emote that tough navy seal/head of Five 0 attitude without unnecessary stunts. After all, the man can act! Seems to be a true bad ass, don’t mess with me, I’m in charge kind of guy lately. I like that a lot.

Steve was a super team leader, with great skills, in this episode. I love the blue henley hugging all those muscles. Didn’t care that much for the Grover storyline, though. I thought it just sucked the energy out of the episode.
I agree that Danny had no business being at Steve’s checkup. Having a half-naked Steve with Danny in the room was, IMO, just a cheap attempt to give the shippers a thrill. It kinda creeped me out. I love ALL the photos of Steve. Thanks !!
