Message From #AlexOLoughlin: – Outlive Yourself Awards

Direct request from Alex O’Loughlin himself about

Nominations for Taylor’s Gift,

Outlive Yourself Awards

(I am amazed at the comments on this post on Alex’s Facebook page. So many people do not know he is Australian and find it interesting that he’s got an accent. After following his career for so many years and doing so many post about him, I still find it hard to imagine that fans still know so little about him.)

  1. He is a wonderful person. Period. “People who care about people inspire me.”
Btw, did anybody notice the pics on the right? Looks like pics one of the boys painted for his 40. birthday? Or someone on set? I think the video is in his trailer.
And like you FOYeur I am always astonished that people don’t know he’s Australian, or has an official facebook page. Sometimes even people who claim to be a fan *cough*. Don’t they know how to search the internet, how can they NOT stumble across your and Paula terrific site??? Tsk.

Yeah, its kinda crazy so many people didn’t know he’s from down under. I’ve been loving that accent since Oyster Farm. But I must admit, I do love his Steve McGarrett voice. I’ve love his reppin for such a great cause like Taylor’s Gift. I nominate him.

  3. At first I was thrown by the people who commented on his accent, not knowing or understanding why he had one! But I had to remind myself that not every fan of his is as well-versed in him as we are, so I do forgive them their ignorance!

I agree, it’s a ’40’ but can see why someone might think it was ‘Lion,’ too.

He’s such a good, honorable, decent human being. He never exploits his celebrity either, always using it for a good cause.

Janno and I discussed the whole “accent” thing yesterday. It still amazes me that people don’t know. But as you say Janno not everyone is as well versed and we are. I know when I first found Alex I did lots of research. The internet 10 years ago wasn’t what it is now.. there’s so much information at our fingertips now. SanDee I can totally see where you thought it may be Lion. Lion would have only been 3 on Alex’s 40th birthday sometimes children do tend to run their letters together or overlap. Either way we can all clearly see these Happy Birthday pictures are special to Alex 🙂
