#H50 7.04 – #AlexOloughlin saved lives again as Steve

I am quite happy with just Steve stories, luckily I can skip the non McG related bits 😉

Alicia got saved by our gorgeous Navy SEAL, so many times. Even tasted his lips, lucky woman! But she also got him in the trouble in the first place. So thank you for that.

I like Steve getting hurt ;). Got a knife deep in back, and the injury healed with a bit of water…

I did like this storyline, and even better that the shrink escaped. Maybe she will come back with a better plan to kill off Steve. Yey 😀

Anyway, this epi was challenging for gifs. I tried my best. Enjoy!

  2. By far the best episode of S7! Loved it. Incredibly exciting. I loved Steve’s ‘don’t mess with me eye twinkle’ as he got out of the van. You captured that well. Sigh. And the last gif is so yummy.
Isn’t it funny that sometimes they had Alex’ back tattoo covered and sometimes not? Why do they even bother? I won’t mind, really… 😉

These are awesome gif’s. The last epi was really good. You’re right the back wounds healed pretty quickly, I was thinking the same thing. Cheers!

Slight understatement Audrey. 6 inches of a foot long breadknife about 2 inches wide blade cutting through a couple of ribs and puncturing a lung in the pair of them and they are uninjured. Hmm I thought the comedy part of the show was a cargument!

Sorry, I couldn’t resist that last post. I’m not meaning to be negative here. Okay, the show has always been unrealistic, but some injury stuff in episodes lately has been so OTT it’s become ridiculous. I’m not a frequent poster to this site, and thumbs up to those responsible for it. It must be the most comprehensive fansite ever, i came late to the show and got hooked on trying to find the back episodes to figure out the plots and who the hell Wo Fat was etc. Your site helped a lot. If AOL ever needs info on himself, he won’t have to research further than here I reckon.

Shooster, I too was late to the show. I picked up really quick. I was hooked after the first episode. I didn’t find this site until after I had already watched the first five seasons( I started watching right after season five had finished airing and it took me 18 days to watch all five seasons). I do agree with you that the show has always been over the top but this season seems much more so, at least so far. Welcome to the site. It’s always nice to hear from other fans of our beloved Alex. I know I look forward to my daily posts from here. I can’t wait to see what goodies the ladies have come up with. It always brightens my day especially when the work day has gone down the crapper.

How about a scene in the ER where both people are stitched up? You don’t just stop bleeding from knife wounds that deep. People often bleed to death from that deep of a wound.

  5. Thanks and if I may….did anyone else notice (reference to the last picture) the part where Alicia leans her head on his shoulder and smiles as though she’s content. I think “Steve” was a bit taken aback. It looked to me, jmo, that he didn’t find t hat very comforting. Granted they have a “bond” because they almost died, thanks to her. Yet it seemed to me that he was a bit miffed for lack of a better word. When they were under water it was his role as a SEAL/COP to protect her; so if he needed to “touch” her face to get her to calm down then so be it. I don’t think there are any romantic connotations to it at all. Just curious as to what you all think.

Also for anyone questioning why Steve didn’t remove the restraints earlier I believe it was best for him to “play along” until he was able to get the upper hand. If the tape was removed earlier it could cause problems and since we saw he was outnumbered he had no choice but to wait.

I liked this episode maybe it was because I didn’t have to hear Danny yell at him for doing something dangerous (something that comes natural to Steve). I also liked that it involved the “whole” team. I don’t know if this Dr. will return and she’s the nemesis that PL mentioned or if it is Shioma? I can’t wait to find out.

From the moment Steve met Alicia in her home and looked at the portrait of her with her daughter on the wall, he looked at her very intently. It felt like he knew something about her or had somehow known her in the past I thought he knew about her daughter. But when he was lying next to her on the floor silently listening to the serial killer tell the story, it looked like he was absorbing the information about her daughter’s death for the first time. Steve powerfully connects to that kind of loss.

Alicia’s a mystery, filled with guilt and pain over her daughter’s death. There are a lot of hidden emotional layers to this woman . So, I think Steve’s trying to figure her out. I think that’s what those looks are. She may have fallen a little in love with him because he saved her life. If the two of them spend more time together, and if he’s able to coax her into telling the full painful story of her daughter’s death, then It’s possible that they could share a brief romantic interlude, perhaps a healing moment for both if them. They will be working together in the future to find the serial killer.

Madison is now one of Steve’s arch enemies. I don’t think this story is over. I’m looking forward to the day when Steve puts a bullet right between her eyes.

I loved reading your thoughts on this, I felt the same way from when he first met Alicia and as you pointed out when he saw the photo of her with her daughter, I felt he knew there was more to the story of the reasons she at first was refusing to get involved, there’s often a deeper reason why someone won’t get involved in something so deep and emphasize the fact that they have retired.

of course it all came out in this episode the reasons behind it. I love how you too seem to understand these characters like I do (((hugs)))

McG was both beautiful and bad-ass in this ep, so that’s pretty perfect. The no-Danno works for me too, and I agree that the not-Steve parts were kinda dull by comparison. Alex owns this role, man. Dude just OWNS it. ❤

I loved this episode, it’s feels like a long time since I’ve had an adrenaline H50 rush, probably not since the season finale episode of seaon 6 and as I’m sure many fans can relate, I feel the withdrawal during the hiatus, omg mood swings and all.

But omg the resuscitation scene, omg wow we haven’t seen McG do that since season 1 episode 4, wow I guess it’s true that all good things do come to those who wait 😉 ❤

But wow wow wow, I loved how this was done, I wasn't really feeling nit-picky on the injury realities, I was more interested in the story. I loved how Alex/Steve remained calm during the situation where he and Alicia were possibly going to drown, he's a SEAL, he knows the worst thing he could do was panic. He was on mission, he had to protect them both. I loved how so much was communicated with his eyes and his actions, I don't feel it was any romantic intent with how he was with Alicia, it was his job and his responsibility to save her life and he doesn't let people die on his watch.

Yeah okay I'm addicted, i'm not afraid to admit it.

I liked how the psycho psychiatrist is still out there, it adds mystery to what's to come. and wow I wasn't expecting Steve's truck to be destroyed, well I guess it's time for a new one, either that or he and Danny are going to fight over Danny's car, maybe Steve will be forced to catch a bus or train now…lol or Danny might see this as an opportunity to drive his car and claim total ownership therefore Steve will now have to rely on him to get around now, wow I don't think that will go down too well

Bottom line, I loved this episode and I'm glad H50 has started again 😉

I’m astonished. It looks like they really filmed in the blow hole! It looks like they were really down in there, with the tide coming up and all! Did you see how close Steve’s and Alicia’s heads were to the very top of the opening? How in the WORLD did the film crew get in that tiny space? I fell into a swimming pool and almost drowned when I was five years old. My father saved my life. I can still vividly see being underwater, looking up, seeing the surface of the water and being unable to get there, so I totally identify with Alicia. I’m claustrophobic and I have a fear of drowning, so I’m not sure Steve could have saved me!!

Alex is absolutely fearless. He owns Steve McGarrett. He’s amazing and spectacular in the underwater scenes. Steve was on a mission to save both their lives. I’m sure that Steve’s Seal training included surviving in crisis situations under water. Most important of all, don’t panic. You will die if you panic. Steve intensely worked to calm Alicia down and to keep reminding her that she was going to live. And then he figured out how to get both of them out of there alive.

Steve gets a brand new, gorgeous truck! I’ve seen photos of it on various twitter and Facebook sites while they were filming episode 10. I guess he’ll have to hitch rides for a few episodes before he gets his new truck. Maybe Grover can drive him around in his truck.

Yay! oh wow I haven’t seen any pics yet of Steve’s new truck. Wow I can’t wait to see it.

Yeah like you I loved this episode, I too have a fear of water, I was pushed into a swimming pool when I was young, some bitches idea of teaching me to swim.

Which did nothing except frighten the hell out of me and make it difficult for me to trust people, even now as an adult I hate being forced into things.

It’s a shame really that I never overcame my fear of water as an adult.

But yeah I loved this episode, and amazed too that the film crew could get into those tight spaces and underwater scenes. I’m presuming there were green screens involved a lot of the time but yeah they would have really been in the water. Probably done how like it was in season 5 with the episode with Kono lost at sea.

I love this series, real dedication from everyone and it shows in the scenes.

Duh, CGI and green screens, dumbie me! It still felt like they were really down in that dark, black hole with the waters constantly rising. When they reached up and touched the ceiling, in almost total blackness, I’m getting another panic attack just thinking about it! Pitch blackness triggers intense claustrophobia in me.

Okay..back to rewatch (for the fifth time). Thank you always for your wonderful gifs, Ms. Intense and Team! I also dub this eppy as “The Eyes Have It” as the wonderful director really knew how much emotion was in McGs (and Alicia’s) eye contact…loved all the angles…especailly the ones in the van. #UpsideDownMcPrettyEyes. Lol, every angle pretty eyes, close up pretty eyes, sideways pretty eyes, upside down pretty eyes! The camera loves Steve in this episode. Agree with all the eye contact between Steve and Alicia. He’s calculating, plotting strategy, sizing up the enemy, always trying to figure out how they’re going to survive.

I too really liked this epi. Totally agree with Alex’s fine acting – his face and eyes were superb( they always are but he conveyed sooooo much emotion in this epi). I too was so caught up in the action, plot and trying to figure out how he was going to get them out of there ….I totally didn’t criticize the goofiness of some aspects of this epi. I do not like the Angelina Jolie look alike and I’m sort of torn as to what he thinks. She thinks…Oh my savior- I’m not so sure he is smitten but he sort of looked like what the hell…now what? She is so complex- anyone who has been FBI has gone thru some heavy duty training and as a profiler she was in intense situations- she lost it and it wasn’t just the fear of water….anyway- thanks for the beautiful gifs- love looking at the small of his (sore) back and his face….boy oh boy, his face! There is a scene in an upcoming episode that he is making a meal in his kitchen. Call me crazy but I think sharing that with him will be Alicia. Stranger things have happened this year. Also read that, even though Catherine and Doris return soon, Catherine doesn’t stay. I totally agree that he has had his share of heartbreak with the women in his life. Maybe (hope not) we will never see him paired with anyone special. Can’t wait for the episode when Doris and Catherine work along H5O

    • I was thinking the same thing, Ms Annie, where McG is cooking. I just hope they become good friends because this opened her up (it would open anyone up) so she won’t be as isolated going through her daughter’s tragedy. Just keep it plutonic, people (hopefully!!!). 🙂 I like McLynn and I love McRoll…but give the boy a break..he just needs time to heal emotionally, physically (did I, Ms McWhump, just say that..LOL!)…and spiritually (get back to church, McBoy). 😉

Gosh ladies, Steve’s had tons of time to heal. The guy’s been alone for a long time now. We met Lynn a year ago on their crazy first date. Then we saw her on Valentine’s day. Nothing since then, and no mention of her to Danny or anyone else that I can remember. It’s time for Steve to fall in love with someone new. Not to say Lynn isn’t a great person, but she just feels like rebound and a friend, more than someone he wants to maybe spend the rest of his life with.

Steve looks incredibly excited, preparing that delicious gourmet dinner in his kitchen. I don’t think it’s just for a platonic friend! Hmmm, I could be wrong, but I feel he might have a little romance on his mind?

I absolutely LOVE Steve’s kitchen! When I watch the show, whenever he’s in the kitchen, I freeze frame and look at everything in it. First of all, that’s an old house, 60-70 years old. His kitchen (his father’s house) looks like my grandmother’s kitchen, really! Old tiles, old features, old toaster, lol, I notice everything. It’s really fun. It also gives you an emotional insight into Steve’s character. I wondered. When he moved into his family home, did he leave everything mostly as his father had arranged it? Did he change anything? Steve loves and reveres his dad, so I suspect that the house today is very much like it was with his dad lived in it.

I don’t have a clue who’s going to walk through the door. We can have fun speculating, but I think it will be a big surprise for all of us. Maybe someone entirely new?

This guy deserves some love and romance.

        Like

        • True…sorry, I agree he does need romance…I agree..I guess this one would feel more like a hero-boyfriend thing too…but whatever they do, I’ll be there watching..no matter what! 😀

Don’t be sorry, we’re all having fun speculating on who’s going to walk through that door. Come to think of it, it might BE Lynn. Maybe Steve’s had time to think and he’s decided it’s her. She’ll be in that episode, so her presence will be really intriguing. And as we’ve commented before, Steve may be expecting one person, only to open the door to someone entirely unexpected! LOL, the many loves of Steve arrive all at the same time! Catherine, Lynn and Alicia all show up by surprise, now that could be REALLY interesting!!!! I wish they would do something truly hilarious like that. “The many loves of Steve McGarrett.”

Alicia’s emotionally devastated and totally shut down by her daughter’s murder. She holds herself responsible. So, she’s not a good romantic partner for Steve. The poor man doesn’t need any more drama than he already has. I can see the possibility of a brief romantic interlude between them, especially if she totally breaks down in his arms when she’s telling him about her daughter. And then after a time together, Alicia realizes that she’s not the right person for him, and that he deserves someone who’s happy and fulfilled in her life, not someone who’s suffering. So, she lets him go because she loves him.

            I can see that.

What a weird episode! Steve was sooo out of character until the bit in the blowhole(that part was too short). He did everything wrong at Alicia’s house and in the van. It was like Steve had never been in a dangerous situation before! And what was the point in mailing Steve’s phone? Doesn’t the blue truck have a tracking device? They could have had the team track Steve’s truck, and see it burned out and they would still have to look for Steve to keep the drama going. Mail truck plot point was stupid and unnecessary. At the end, Steve should have looked more upset about his truck (why wasn’t he driving the Mercury there?). I’m totally on team McBlueTruck!
