#AlexOLoughlin the same as #SteveMcGarrett?

Question: How are you different from Steve McGarrett?

Alex: Well, I tend to move like him and look like him. And I can take a beating fairly well. (Laughs).

But I’m much more sensitive than him. Some of the things he’s been through would have driven me to tears. … There’s a darkness that follows him that I don’t understand and I probably don’t want to.

I never post here, but I just found this site a few months ago. It’s great! I personally think the character of Steve is much more sensitive than he lets on. It could just be because Alex is a sensitive person it naturally shows when he plays Steve.

  3. I agree with Alysia. Steve might have started “harder” but definitely his sensitivity has increased with the seasons. And Alex is so good at portraying it.

    • I think Alysia is spot on. Alex is a very good actor and a very kind person. Steve may have started off harder, but Alex’s sensitive nature has worked it’s way into Steve as the character evolved. He’s played some bad guys in the past. But they were not “long term” so he could leave sensitive Alex at the door and embody a crewel very messed up character and play them perfectly. Steve is nether crewel or that messed up. He’s just a bit wounded when it comes to trusting the woman in his life. He deserves to be happy and leave the “darkness” behind. ♥
