We thought it might be a good idea to do a few posts on subjects that we saw people are searching for on the internet, in regards to Alex.

His hair was a little bit longer on the top here, but we thought it would be fun to include it as well. This was taken in 2002 for a magazine article in “Blue”, about “Sydney’s Sexiest Barmen”.
Alex worked as a barman at that time, to support himself while studying at NIDA.

Steve got a cut
For Episode 3:20 of Hawaii Five-0, they gave Alex a buzz cut to film the scenes of Steve from the past, when he was doing his Navy SEAL, BUD’s training in 2000.
For the rest of that episode and for the next episode (3:21) they gave him an ugly red wig to wear. Fortunately they threw that away and for the rest of Season 3 and the most part of Season 4, his hair was just short. 😦
My Thoughts
Alex can rock the buzz cut at any time, as you can see above. I think he proved that he looks great, no matter how his hair is cut, on many occasions.
The buzz cut, for his role of Marcus in the movie ‘The Invisible‘, worked very well and he looked gorgeous.
Having said that, I still prefer him with longer hair like in ‘The Back-up Plan‘ and Season 1 of ‘Hawaii Five-0′. I feel it makes him look younger – not that I mind him looking older at all. 😛
I guess what I am trying to say is that on the odd occasion he looks great with the buzz cut, but overall I prefer it not being that short for long periods of time. 🙂

I totally agree. I love him when his hair is long enough to have a little neck curl. Marcus looked really good but he was much younger then.

Spoken like a true woman, my friend. ❤ You like it when you like it and don't when you don't. LOL I like his short hair, but not with a full beard like last summer. Season 1 and Stan hair were the best. I like a little something to hold on to. 😛 As long as they keep it's natural color, I will be "mostly" happy. Not fond of his look for TV guide with all the hair. Then again, the wet shirt was pretty hot. I guess we can always find something sexy about Alex, regardless of what his current style is.

I like him with more length to it, the short buzz is making him look far too old. Noticed a change in his face also, it seems fuller. I would love his hair to be a bit longer, he isn’t in the military anymore. Also loved his full beard. He carries a beard off well, when it’s just the two day scruffy look or a full beard. The beard he had at his wedding was awesome though. Longer hair and the beard at his wedding would be good.

Thank you for explaining the use of the horrid red wig in season 3. I had wondered about it previously and now it makes sense (the REASON it was used – NOT why it was so bad). 🙂

I agree with you completely Foyeur. TBUP and season 1 of Hawaii Five O was the best Alex has looked. I’ll always adore him but when ever he has a buzz cut I have to look at him from his eyes down. Which is not a punishment by any means. Lol. Great post.

i thought i had commented on this back in the day, but i guess my comments were elsewhere. I prefer short on the sides with a little length on top. S5:1 was the absolute best! I agree that season 3/4 buzz cut made his face look round. I always wished they would have just made the sides shorter. I have heard him say before he likes it short because of how hot it gets in Hawaii (why i guess he has kept it short on hiatus – at least before he was married he did).

I’m a Man. I’m Thinking Alex Hair is Thinning. I went through the same Thing. Now I shave it. Thank God I Have the right shaped Head. Had to do it. I’m a Fan of Alex. But there is a New Medical Shot you get in your Head to regrow Hair!! I didn’t have the Money. But he dose. I don’t care either way. But First season. Loved His Longer Hair. God Bless!!

But if at some stage he start to loose his hair, I think he is as lucky as you are, because he does have a nice shape of head to accomodate a shaven head also. And of course the money if he chose to take other steps.
Of course he does have a few more grey patches of hair that way back then. But he, as with most men, only look more distinguished with the grey 🙂

It’s not about his hairline. He has less hair growth out of the folicles. His gray hair is good. It doesn’t make him look old. I saw the story on Good Morning America. Doctor Jenn Anisiton, had it done. Just a Thought. Love Alex O’Loughlin. I’m old enough to have watched the original Hawaii Five O. He’s Perfect for the Role. What a Stud!!!

Maybe I did not write my previous comment clearly. I also was saying or meant to say that I see now difference in the thickness of his hair (not only talking about the hairline)
To me it makes not difference if his hair is thinning of not – and therefore I have no need for it to be one way or the other.
My comments about it come from what I see and not what I want to, of need to see – and I stand by my view on what I see from the hunderds of thousands of diffent pictures of Alex that I have seen and studied over the past 7 years. It was thin back then and it is thin now as well.
I will most probably be the first one to do a post on it, if I really believed that his hair was getting less. 🙂

As fangirls of Alex for the past 7 years, we have seen him through his thin years of is dependence on pain meds after his injuries and him going to rehab for it in early 2012. At that stage before he went to rehab, it was quite clear that things were wrong – at this moment in time, I see no evidence of anything looking remotely like it did back then.
At this point he might be thinner than what he’s been before, but this is definitely not his thinnest nor does he look unhappy or ill. I think he is actually in a very good space in his personal life at the moment. And even with his body taking a lot of beatings over the years, he is looking after it a lot better at this time.

This past weeks episode. He looks dehydrated. His skin Looks wrinkled. Like old Leather. He’s too Lean. He needs some Fat. Just like Kelly Ripa Dose. Even her Husband said on Andy Choens Show. He said his wife is so skinny, that she should be hooked up to an i.v. That’s what he is looking like. Even worse when he was on those pain Meds.

Because I am not as polite as wonderful and nice FOYeur I tell you as I see it. I’ve not read such a BS in a long time. Just looking at this fine man during his BJJ classes I am pretty sure a lot of men regard him with envy.
And you claim to be a fan? Ridiculous. Stating these kind of things that’s how nasty stupid rumors start.

I am a Fan of Alex O’Loughlin. I Just think every season, he gets thinner, and thinner. I’m just saying. I’m against How anyone in on camera thinks that they have to be 20 pounds lighter to look good on Television. There are national news people. Hollywood people. And it Doesn’t look good. And what they must look like in person. And especially a Man. He stops looking like a Man. And More like a Thing… Or Female…. And do you happen to know, if that bow legged walk of his is just for Television. Or Is that his walk.????? Have you seen him in person Lately??? You have to remember. This season was filmed long ago.. So Maybe he has put on some Man Meat since. 😉

His bow legged walk? It’s his typical swagger every fan knows.
And yes, I know people who met him several times, talked to him at length during and at the end of filming S8. And all they said was that he is looking perfect, muscular, even more gorgeous in real and perfectly content with his life.

You actually have a hard-on for Scott Caan, but you just feigned an interest in Alex in order to come here and insult him and those of his fans who visit our site.
I guess the “Real Man” (Dano as you call him) does have a variety of fan sites that you can visit and comment on. They might show some interest in your remedies for hairloss. They might even like your poetry and your sense of humour as well.

I guess for some of us Alex is more than just his hair (or wether it is long of short).
I will enjoy him as an actor in any shape or form he might be in – he remains gorgeous in my eyes, because of just who he is.
But then again, I cannot expect others to feel the same as I do …. 🙂

Excuse me but Alex is beautiful on the inside and outside.I love his hair on every season and he gets sexier on every episode i watch so i don’t know what the problem is with the so called Alex fans making fun of him and saying things that are not true.I have been a Alex fan since 2009 up to now. And again Alex is one fine sexy man where people believe it or not sorry but not sorry. Team Alex now and forever.
