In the movie “The Holiday” Alex and Odette kiss and portray a loving couple for the first 37 seconds of the movie.

Odette Yustman knows what it’s like to kiss Alex O’Loughlin for hours on end.Before their paths to stardom caught fire, the “You Again” and “Cloverfield” actress — who starts a series run when FOX debuts the security-firm sitcom “Breaking In” Wednesday, April 6 — locked lips with the current star of CBS‘ “Hawaii Five-0” reboot in the opening scene of “The Holiday,” the 2006 romantic-comedy movie in which Jack Black plays a composer who matches his music to footage of them.
“It’s so funny,” Yustman tells Zap2it. “In this business, you get asked to do certain things, and you do a lot of it to have contact with some big names and just get experience.
I remember my agent calling and saying, ‘There’s this small part at the start of the movie, and (writer-director) Nancy Meyers would love to meet you.’ And I thought, ‘How can I pass that up? Absolutely!’
“I met her, then I ended up having to kiss this guy for hours! It was a tricky shot because you had to get the angle right, so it was very specific; I’d say we were there for a good eight hours, at least.
We were troupers, though. I was in good company, and it was just a fun little thing. It’s one of those things you do when you’re just starting out.”
My thoughts:
- Some girls have all the fun …….
- It is very rare to be credited for a movie, when you don’t talk in it and only appears in it for a few seconds kissing, even before the opening credits.
- After I ‘discovered’ Alex, I read that he was in the movie. I skipped the titles and started watching the dvd, never finding a kissing couple 😦
