Season 3 – most favorite emo moment. It is a POLL!

A month ago, our poll for most fun moment showed us that Steve and Cath provided us with what was regarded by the voters, as the most fun moments. The two scenes with the two of them came in at No 1 and 2.

Let´s have a look at Season 3 most emotional moments, and vote for the most memorable one. Did you get moved by this scene (I obviously only captured Alex as usual). So here are the contestants in random order.

Vote for your favorite emo Steve!

304-face

1. A little girl got kidnapped (totally everyday thing in HI), she was saved and returned to her parents.

306-hug

2. Little buddy had a bomb scare, Steve never left his side. Danny got saved and hugging ensued with both shedding tears of relief.

318-forgivenes

3. Cath had promised mom Doris to keep her secret and of course it came out and Steve´s feelings got hurt. He realised it was mom´s fault and forgave Cath with a sweet kiss.

319-jeans

4. Helping out those who won´t ask for it. Lovely moment in jeans and tank top…*sigh*

324-goodbye

5. So 3 finale with saying goodbye to mom and Kono (and Adam). Will be a while till they return to the island (perhaps).

321-wofat

6. Finally capturing his #1 enemy! Badly hurt WoFat begging for Steve to finish him off, but Steve wants him to suffer.

320-sorrow

7. Going after his Navy Seal buddy´s remains in the Korean jungle, only to discover his friend´s body had been mutilated.

  1. How do you expect me to name just one? Sigh. They were all really great, and I guess there were many more during the season.
Even though I think number 7 was absolutely perfectly acted and the scene was so moving, heartwrenching and all. I still ent with number 3, Cath being forgiven. Because that was such a beautiful scene, and showed so much emotion on Steve’s part, and them being back together, awww, I don’t know, that was just perfect.

A beautiful poll, Paula!! Thank you!! No. 7 is for me the most emo moment ever, no doubt about that. I still refuse to rewatch this scene, it’s simply too much. I’m probably ridiculously sensitive to some things, lol… I’m curious about what others will vote for!

Only one! So not fair! By far 7 then 5 then 2! I’m sure there are more that I don’t even remember. As always a great poll!

An emotional poll so well related with all the emotions that steve made us lie during this season. For me is n 7 in my fav ep of the all season.

Hard to make a choice. I simply adore him when he suffers. But crying over his mutilated buddy was really very touching.
For me, one of the most interesting and touching moments was when Steve looked at his mother for the first time after 20? years. The display of all the emotions on his face was really something.

    • I think so 2 ending sort of ruined 301 reunion for me, and I left it out from the poll. I think Alex acted great in that scene meating mom, but it still didn´t move me at all…I blame Doris 😉

Don’t blame her – MEAT her. I bet she has deserved it. LOL
I don’t care for her too much either. She has something very superficial about her and doesn’t fit in there too well for me. I only extremely enjoyed all the emotions on THAT FACE shown in just a few seconds. They were emotions in between. In gif No 7 he is clearly devastated and displays this with a gut-wrenching candor, but when he actually looks into Mom’s face, there is such a variety of in-between-feelings which I have never seen in a better perfomance by any other actor. Not that I’d care about it, anyway.:-)

So so true!!!! THIS makes me stay as a fangirl, THIS proves that I'm fangirling about the right man. THIS! …and every interview with him being funny and showing an intelligent and prudent view of the world.
That makes me proud……. of myself! 🙂

  6. Alex does a wonderful job at displaying emotion, he makes McGarrett come to life. His facial expressions alone are amazing. All of the above tear at my heart but #7 was a real tearjerker for me ❤

  8. Glad? to see that #7 seems to work for so many. For some reason I couldn´t relate to Danny´s bomb scare. Cath being forgiven also was a great moment to see.

I can understand you that moment did’nt worked for me either. I loved the moments with Cath, Doris, the goodbye to Kono and one moment that also marked this season for me was in ep 2 the hug between Steve and Chin at the office after Malia’s funeral .Chin hugs Steve and says “Love you brother”those words made me cry..
A very emotional season with so great moments given to us by Alex’s amazing way of showing his emotions.

    • I agree Paula, i couldn’t get into the hug after Danny’s bomb scare. It just seemed like a chance to get the guys to hug and not very emo to me. We’ve been there (1.23) and done that…

  9. I don’t have to think twice! It’s #7 for me! That was so incredibly well acted (as the whole epi), this display of emotions from the feeling of relief to finally have found his SEAL-brother, to realisation what was done to him, to his short break-down and to seething with rage. It was not only a SEAL mission, it was personal. And you could see a little crack. But cracks are good. That’s where the light comes in.

For me, it is definitely 7 then 3. 7 because Steve is such a tough guy and to see him breakdown like that just broke my heart and showed us there is so much more to him. Plus that whole episode is one of the best because it really gave us insight into Steve and the back story with Catherine and the Hess brothers.

And then making up with Catherine. I actually liked the scene that led up to that because he was so angry he just couldn’t deal with her. Then when he realized it was not really her fault, though it kind of was, and he forgave her, I loved the way he just embraced her. Ah, I love my Steve lol

Thank you for another great poll. You how much we like to review these wonderful moments of our favorite character. My favorite emo moment is nº7. Alex is always great in giving depth and authenticity to the role and in the episode 3.20 he was brilliant – Bravo Alex!

  12. Steve always tugs at my heart with any tender moment, but the romantic in me had to choose when he forgave Catherine.

  13. Oh my god, how could I choose just one scene among 3 of my favorite moments? I absolutely love the moment Steve cries out beside his buddy’s body. He really means what he feels. And of course, the kissing scene with Catherine at the end of ep 18. He realizes how important she is to him. The whole make-out scene reminds me of the sentence: “No matter how angry you get, you always end up forgiving the people you LOVE”. This simple and soundless scene definitely means something special in the relationship of Cath and Steve, not just a so-called “thing”. I go crazy just because of that.
And I love the moment Steve look at Kono leaving. So touching. That’s what they always say “Ohana”. They are really “Ohana”.

I dont know. It’s tough to choose. But I have to go with my guts. Scene 3 definitely.

    Great poll. Thank you.

  18. I *wish* #7 was my favorite but all the bellyaching from nit picking fans kind of ruined the emo for me…so I went with my other favorite moment which is #3. Steve and Cath together is always a good time to me. They have such great chemistry and what I love about this scene is that he was still ‘mad’ at her, he wasn’t all “OH i know it was my mom now and I forgive you’… no, he never said that BUT he knew he couldn’t live without her and MOST OF ALL he knew CATH needed him at that moment. It’s a moment of “we’re not over this yet but we will be”. anyone who has really been in love and had a sustained relationship can relate to that IMO.

He was really hurt, but it hurt him also to see her being sad and lonely at the beach, and that strutt to her, and his hand grabbing her neck unbearable hot’n’sexy all together! They just rocked the moment in silence! Perfectly done!

          • Yeah that’s right. Perfectly done. Im wondering what’s next, what Cath and Steve will tell each other after that hug. Keep maintaining the silence or just make-out once more, once more, once more. If only we could see that on TV. Just wonder hihi.

That is a shame and is why I never pay attention to the criticism of this show. is it perfect? No, but it is what it is and I like the over the top stuff like when the helicopter picked up the armored truck Wofat was in. I mean come on really? But, that is what makes this show fun. If fans are looking for realism all the time then go watch a documentary. At some point you just have to roll with it. End of semi rant 🙂

      • visage13, thanks for the comment. I try not to pay attention to the criticism either. LIke you, i’m not looking for a documentary, I’m looking to be entertained (though I did hate the armored truck scene…sorry. lol).

Running my own blog and my presence among the blog writers sadly made it difficult to ignore in this instance. 😦

That’s exactly why I loved that scene. EXACTLY. It’s that moment when you really aren’t ready to say “it’s OK” because… well, it NOT OK… YET. I thought it was well played, not having him say anything. Actions spoke so much louder than words there. He meant his action, he might not have meant the words.

Oh for Crying out Loud.. Only one Vote.. Of course it’s going after his Seal buddy, watching that man cry.. DAMM.

But if I had a second chance, it would be little buddy and bomb scare, followed close by Doris telling Cath to keep a secret.. How dare she?? I wanted to slap Doris, and still do!!
That is probably why I have hard time watching the last few episodes of Season 3. My Re-watch stops at episode 20, I have really hard time watching 21, 22 and mostly 23 and 24.. Doris *growls*

    N. 2 for me is the most emo moment, Steve stand by Danny’s side though a bomb is ticking and then the relief when the dangerous time ended… He was ready to loose his life just to stay by his side, he couldn’t stand to live his life without Danny.
