Alex O’Loughlin – It feels like we lost a friend today!

… none of your love and hard work ever goes unnoticed or unappreciated. It is something in my life that helps me find the energy I don’t always think I have, to get through another long work day and stay inspired.

Alex O’Loughlin, MySpace Blog, 30 July 2009

Dear Mizz

This is just a small note af appreciation for all the hard work and dedication on your site  “Alex O’Loughlin Rocks”, over the last four years.  We personally think it was one of the greatest fan sites around. Your attention to the smallest detail did not go unnoticed. Your love for Alex and his work showed in every article you wrote.

More than a year ago when you told me you might close the site, I hoped that this day would never come. You gave us a scare in the beginning of the year, but we were all thankful that you kept it alive. You did not really give us time to say goodbye this time, but at least we got news via some people who know you better, that you are doing well.

Today it feels like the ‘Encyclopedia on Alex O’Loughlin‘ was destroyed and that the ‘Sistine Chapel‘ has been spray painted. But life goes on and the world might end in a few days in any case. 😉

We will definitely miss this logo dearly and wish you the best for the future.  You were the greatest ambassador for Alex and his work!

Lots of fangirl love and appreciation

FOYeur and Neropatti  – Paula

  1. Is it possible that I share your article on my page.

I have great respect for the work that makes Mizz during his few years and I’d show her by publishing your article.

Today truly is a sad day. I was worried the last two weeks that something might have happened to her in RL. And at the same time hoping that she was simply on vacation. It never crossed my mind that she would simply disappear without a word.

But I can fully understand her decision after what happened when she mentioned earlier this year that she would cut back on her work on the site. I guess it is easier this way, not just for us, but mostly for her. I’m sure this was not an easy step for her.

I am so thankful for all she did. She had the best site for all things O’Loughlin. And never once did I find an article on her site that didn’t show her respect and her love for Alex O’Loughlin.

Thank you SO much for all the time you invested in maintaining the site and informing us about Alex.

I wish you all the very best for the future. May your hopes and dreams come true. Take care.

This is a sad day for all of us that thoroughly enjoyed AOLR. It was always a wonderful place for all things Alex! I’m sure she did this after much thought and consideration. I wish her nothing but happiness and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your dedication.

  8. The shock from last night´s news is slowly fading, but I still mourne for the loss of her vast archives of pics and videos. I sure hope she kept those saved for herself and that they were not deleted permanently. I never got to say a proper thank you but maybe she will read our messages and knows her work is missed and that we wish her all the best things for her future and are grateful for her services in AOL fandom. Good luck Mizz 🙂

Paula, thanks for giving us a place to express that appreciation to her, hope she sees it. I too found that site first, and never followed an actor or celeb in my life. Her site captured my attention, must have been the scooter/running pics. Thanks for your efforts and gifs here. Must be a lot of work for all of you who do this.

    • Foyeur came up with this letter (beautiful, thanks partner 🙂 ), we were talking last night and this news really is a big deal for many of us (I was totally shocked last night, Foyeur got dozens of emails from me regarding this). But life goes on and new fan forums burst to life. We hopefully will have this place up and running for a long time still 🙂

  10. Mozzoh was inspiration for me to write a book about Alex… it turned out to be compilation of fan art and appreciation of Alex… she was glad to give me permission to use some of the stuff from the site and now I miss it so much… I’m glad I have downloaded everything I could from there, so that I can add some things to the new version after season 3… but, the only thing I never had was her logo… if you’re interested in book, it’s here:

I’m gonna miss AOLR so much. It was the first site I went to when I became a fan & it was by far my favorite. Mizzoh put such hard work & so much love into it. It was never gossip or tabloid filth, just an honest and respectful appreciation for the man we all love. I love her for that & I hope she knows how much we appreciated her & how much we are going to miss her.

  26. I found Mizz’s site as my first fandom for the lovely man we follow and she always gave the utmost respect for everything she posted and everything she shared with his fandom. She really was, over the course of time, the “Encyclopedia Alex O’Loughlin” for many of us and we were richer because of that. And, she certainly built the love around him with all her news and photos!

Thank you for letting us all share our grateful thoughts and feelings for the tremendous work Mizzoh invested. We will miss her talents, creativity and brilliance of spirit, and wish her the very best in all her future endeavors.

Thanks for the memories, Mizz…you were simply the Best!!!

  27. Foyeur and Paula. what a lovely tribute to a lovely lady and the incredible fansite she made for Alex and his fans. I had the very great pleasure to meet her in LA in 2009 during those never to be forgotten MOONLIGHT days. We saw ALex at an afternoon taping at the CBS TV Studios. What a pretty and marvelous lady she was with her charming Dutch accent. Thank you “MIZZOH” for the “Giant Thrill Ride” that was AOLR. Goodbye and God Bless.XOOX

        • Foyeur Darling Sorry for the delay in answering but I had 4 days witout my internet and over 500 emails to sort through
‘ I believe it must have been earlier than 2009 because it was during MOONLIGHT and it was not a taping of that {I WISH} but the Craig Ferguson Show on which Alex was appearing. We went with a group called the Southern California ‘FRESHIES’ and Mizzoh had stayed with my friend DEb. She took her to LAX directly after the taping for her flight back to Holland. I do know that MIZZ bought some incredible stuff of Alex’s from Ebay and had an AMAZING collection. She really was like many of the Alex things she collected “One of a kind” It is heartwarming to read the lovely tributes {Well Deserved} to her and AOLR

      Hi Sara
There was not an official post that talks about the shutting down of AOLR.
We also just saw that Mizz stopped all activities on her Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr as well as on the main site of AOLR on 15 November. The site finally just disappeared on 27 November.
People posted on twitter that she confirmed that she was okay and that she was just getting to busy in real life to maintain the site at the level that she wanted to….
I believe that it was a extremely difficult decision for her to finally make. To give such a lot of love and energy to something in your life, takes a lot of commitment and time.
We will all miss her valuble contribution to the world of Alex, dearly!!

I LOVED everything about it…the pictures, the videos, the quotes, the countdown timeline, etc, etc, etc. The thing I loved the most though was MIZZ’s ovbious love and respect for our boy. I am so sad…I am going to miss AOLR immensely…it just won’t be the same without it. AOLR was a beautiful place to visit…so much love and time invested!!! Thank you for this opportunity to be able to express how we all feel about this loss and to let MIZZ know how much we are going to miss her!!!

It’s so sad to see the site is gone. I was never a member of aolrocks but visited the archive several times. A true aol encyclopedia. I panicked when she said in february she was going to close down the site and copied a lot of the info. Was so happy she changed her mind. I admire her for the time and work she put in it. Thank you Mizzoh! AOLrocks will be missed by a lot of fans.

I’m glad I found this blog because I wasn’t sure what happened. I’ve been visiting AOLR for the last 4 or 5 years every day. I’m so sad to see it close and will sorely miss getting my Alex fix from AOLR. Thank you Mizzoh for all of the wonderful work you did on the site, you are a true professional. It was the one and only site that I ever took an active role in with comments, etc. because I trusted Mizz. Alex is the only celeb I have ever followed with a passion and Mizz made it such a joy to follow him. I too wish you only the best.
